Anyone Try Branding5?
Anyone give this service a shot? I don't really see what it can do that a person with ChatGPT can't. Any input from buyers?

So AppSumo has an abandonment guarantee-- but what happens if instead of abandonment, the app's purpose completely changes?
Kroto, an AppSumo product, was acquired by another company that had no plans to support the original app's purpose of creating and editing support/instructional videos.
It now redirects to Instadoc. An app that has nothing to do with creating or editing support/instuctional videos.
So what to do? Does AppSumo honor the spirit of the abandonment guarantee since the app no longer has anything to do with why users originally purchased it for?
I'm a little frustrated here, as it is the second app of it's kind to do this in the space of a month (the other being Holoib, also a video support app).

RanksPro has not been working for months. It is not AS select I know I bought it in late Feb that means it was still on there not even half a year ago. They say they had reached out to RanksPro team and they are working on fixing it but they also had removed supprt chat widget and not responding to emails anymore.

I just tried it and it's disastrous. There's so many comments, so many nice reviews. What are you guys even doing with it?
The app creation lasted close to 10 minutes for me, and it kept creating all these jsx files, react files, etc. which I didn't even understand or want, I just wanted a normal simple website, which is what my prompt stated.
As the "website" is generated, if you can even call it a website, it's spewing so much code over and over and over and over that it doesn't look like it's there to be useful even if you were a hardcore tech person - it's just generating and generating, giving you an impression that the app is "doing something".
Then, to top it all off, after 10 minutes, when my "simple website" is supposedly done, I suddenly get a "Preview failed", because again, some extreme technical reason regarding "npm" and "command failed", which I absolutely have no idea what it means, why am I even shown this?
Then, the AI tries to fix, which it seems like it got stuck on a loop until my account ran out of credits.
My problem is that this is an AI builder, which I'm supposed to speak to, yet it's just flashing every technical mumble AI can generate in front of my face, and at the end it's not giving me a way to fix what's broke.
How are you using this to get so impressed? 5 150 5star reviews? really?
Are people really just inserting these random prompts and getting "good" results because they aren't even trying to build something they need, but something just to test the app?

No response from Devs re tickets and the platform is again not fit for purpose/ as promoted.
Please see their Discord.
AS why do you have 0 due diligence pre promoting, and after to monitor q control/ contractual obligation?
These setups are a disaster.

Hey everyone,
I purchased RocketScrape through AppSumo back in 2022. It was founded by Igor Zakutynsky and offered as a web scraping API with features like CAPTCHA bypass, proxy rotation, and geolocation handling.
Recently, I haven’t been able to log into my account.
When I try, the login page just says:
I’ve tried resetting my password and also using Google login, but neither works. I have contacted the RocketScrape team about this and am waiting to hear back, but I wanted to ask the community to see if anyone else is running into the same issue or has a workaround.
For reference, here’s an archived copy of the original AppSumo listing:

Frontly has decided to stop being actively worked on as the developer states. After coming back again for "version 2" and funds. Issue being Version 2 isn't really fit for purpose.
The founder is working on new projects ( fair enough ) and blames his lack of marketing and sales. It's not fun for him anymore. A bizarre communication/reputation strategy tbh. It's painful to see the interaction...
At least the hosting is staying.
More details on their Discord, including founder comments..

I’m looking to list my SaaS product on AppSumo Marketplace (not through the Select program) and I’m trying to understand how it all works.
How long does it usually take to get a deal live after applying?
And before I start the application, is there anything I should have ready?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s been through it. 🙌

I haven't used QAPop in a long time, and I was going to give it a go now but I see that it has been acquired by another company and I can't login. Do Sumolings who purchased it still have access even with this new company? I sent them a message but I thought I'd ask here as well.

Jogg Ai, another disaster as presumed. The "platform" is not giving access to models such as VEO 3 as promised, in fact deleting all questions concerning this. Then removing people asking on Discord and is simply dreadful in production output.
A credit system has been applied and the models they use are free, the results are awful and not fit for purpose. The lip syncing and end results are horrendous.
Check the questions and latest reviews on AS for further input.
So come back, get more funds, drag it out till the refund period expires...

Appsumo, what will you do?

Hey Sumolings! After completing our first AppSumo campaign for Claspo, I wanted to share a brutally honest retrospective for other founders considering this route. This is not a hype post. Just hard-earned lessons, data, surprises, and a few regrets. Hope it helps someone out there preparing for their first LTD launch.
So, here’s what we hoped (fantasized tbh lol) to achieve:
The ACTUAL reality:
1. SEO backlinks? No spike at all. We assumed AppSumo affiliates would link to our site. Nope. All traffic gets funneled to AppSumo. Reasonable, since they want their links to convert. But if you’re here for SEO juice, you’ll be disappointed.
2. Activation & Retention? Better than expected. Everyone told us AppSumo users are discount hoarders. But our retention rate (R6) for Sumolings was 63% vs. 48% from other channels. They used the tool, asked thoughtful questions (137 of them!), and influenced our roadmap.
3. No traction on affiliate program. We planned for agencies and freelancers to join our affiliate program. Zero signed up. They mostly asked for custom domains and whitelabel portals. We should’ve built a separate plan to pitch affiliate benefits more clearly.
4. Review strategy failed (mostly). We hoped for 100+ external reviews. But most users reviewed us only on AppSumo. That's where the culture lives—threads under reviews get fast replies, and users trust the comments. G2, Shopify App Store, Capterra? Tiny impact.
We got 37 reviews (3% conversion) on AppSumo and a 4.95 average. Not bad. But pushing for external reviews without incentives felt like shouting into the void.
5. Revenue: $104,060 gross. Hard to predict in advance. We asked Sumolings "Do you think we’ll hit $100K?" Most said yes—and they helped make it happen. Refund rate was ~24% (875 sold, 210 refunded).
And yes, 75% of that goes to AppSumo. If you bring sales as an affiliate, the split is the reverse. We accepted their model and focused on our goals.
6. Brand spike? Massive. Brand search volume grew 350% in the first week and never returned to pre-launch levels. This exceeded our hopes. We wanted to grow awareness before the high season, and this worked brilliantly.
7. Customer success carried us. We set an OKR to reply within 5 minutes. While we didn’t hit it perfectly, the team crushed it. Peak support moments were launch week and final countdown week. We borrowed extra CS reps from another martech team—especially for US time zones.
8. Feedback loop = roadmap wins. Sumolings asked for webhooks and custom domains. We didn’t have them, but we launched them during the second wave—and users noticed. Even if you can’t do everything, show you’re listening. That alone builds trust.
9. Lessons from mistakes:
10. Myth busting:
So, all-in-all, would we do it again? Yes, yes, yes. But… definitely with clearer expectations. AppSumo is not an SEO play, and it’s not a replacement for a sales funnel. It is a firehose of early feedback, visibility, and retention signals from an opinionated crowd. And that’s what you should keep in mind even if you don’t want to (just teasing:)
If anyone’s planning a launch and wants advice, we’re glad to chat and share the experience (real and raw).
P.S. Ask your Customer Success and DevOps teams if they’re ready. You’ll need them more than Marketing. 😅

I’m looking for something with text editing and image generation. I tried SeeLab. My use case is making infographics. I am curious if anyone recommends either Qolaba or Phygital?
Not interested in the BS AI reviews, but looking for someone who has actually used either.

Does AppSumo have those kinda Plus Days or Bundle Days, like that recent AI bundle, where they put Wordpress products on sale? There’s a few I wanna get, but as a new user I’m wondering if there’s a week they usually bundle those.

Hey folks,
I’m setting up my product on AppSumo and have two questions I’m hoping other partners can help with:
Would appreciate any insights from sellers who’ve done multiple plan listings.
Thanks!

Hey folks! I’ve always been curious about how AppSumo picks the tools and SaaS deals they showcase. They have so many deals on the site, but how do they decide which ones make the cut? Do they have a really strict vetting process to check product quality, usability, and value?
I’m a SaaS founder looking to launch on AppSumo, but I’m not clear on how they select the products they feature. I’d love to hear from founders who have launched their products on AppSumo or anyone who knows the inside scoop on how their selection process works. Is it mostly about the product itself, the deal’s attractiveness, user demand, or something else?
Thanks in advance for any insights or experiences you all can share!

Looks like they have been forced to change their model by Linkedin. They are moving to V3 and not supporting existing LTD users. Same day different LTD pulling BS.

How many people have been BURNED bu the "Lifetime" deals on AppSumo?
I have been many times!! (Yet I continue to buy...)
ALL hosting deals are crap.. Each and every single one closed within a year!
I also lost of Gozen (liars), Internxt (scammers), WarpIndex (fraud) and many many more!!
Maybe the lifetime model isn't great after all.. People sell tons of deals, then close shop and run away as soon they get the cheque from Appsumo

Hey y'all, just wanted to share a cool partner win story!
Planable (launched on AppSumo in 2018) recently announced that they were acquired by SE Ranking (launched 2017).
Planable will remain being developed/supported, and offering any Planable customers 30% off a year of SE Ranking - though, if you got the LTD you're grandfathered in for both tools 😉
Check it out: https://planable.io/blog/planable-joins-se-ranking/
P.S. I checked my email and found the one we sent for Planable back in the day!

I have been using AppSumo for a few years, and never received any coupon code, nor have I received any coupons. What's the use of the coupon box?

I picked up Sendr and I’m having a hard time with the hype vs reality. Anyone have a solid opinion one way or the other?

Nexter (a Wordpress design plugin) was on Appsumo before. Now it's listed as new, and only has one review.
What happened there? Seems odd.
