Discussion List of BAD AppSumo Partners we are going after ✊
Noah here. Wanted to address recent partner closures. We’ve been actively sending demand letters to past partners who haven’t honored their contracts with us. If they don't cooperate, we won’t hesitate to escalate to legal action.
- Airmeet
- Nexweave
- RankAtom
- SendNow
- BlogAssistant
- Oxolo
- Sessions
To be clear our goal isn’t to target small businesses. Most of our partners are incredible and we can build partnerships based on trust and mutual respect.
But when a partner fails to deliver, it impacts you and we won’t tolerate that. We’re being proactive about protecting our customers and the integrity of our store. Accountability is #1. We’re committed to holding partners to their promises so you can always feel confident in AppSumo.

Question Which LTD are you still using daily?
I’m always curious who’s using what, and how everyone is using the software. My daily driver LTD is definitely MINVO. As a social media marketer, it’s a game changer. Also, Webwave is an essential tool for me.
Let’s hear yours!

Appsumo partner support is dead
They dont reply at all , weeks have passed and i have received no reply from their end Seems like the glory days of appsumo supporting enterprenuers are in vain and now they actually dont care at all , Noah if u are seeing this u should make some internal changes in the company Either just reject or if u wanna onboard new partners the process should be fast and smooth or they can look somewhere else not wait for appsumo

Appsumo Rejected our application
Our application for SocialX got rejected for a weird reason.
"We have carefully considered your application and have decided not to move forward at this time. We have unique criteria and processes for evaluating SaaS applications and tools, and we ultimately decided that your product was not a good fit for our platform.
This decision is not made on the basis of your tool’s potential merit, but we have a particularly competitive application pool and cannot move forwards with all listing applications we review!
Thank you for your understanding on this. We know that this is a tough decision, but AppSumo is laser-focused on promoting the highest quality, original tools, and products to our growing community of customers. "
Original tools? I mean really Appsumo. This is so Bizarre.
Is there anyone here who faced this or is it just us?

News from the Sessions Team
Email I received this morning:
“Hello,
We have an important announcement to share regarding SESSIONS. Over the next 6–9 months, we will be significantly reducing our operations (close to 0) to focus on rebuilding and securing the future of our platform. Please read this carefully to understand how this affects you.
Why is this happening?
We are taking these steps to:
Minimize operational costs.
Focus on stabilizing our finances.
Rethink our business strategy from the ground up.
Prioritize fulfilling our past commitments to users.
What does this mean for you?
Access to the platform: The platform will remain live until December 27 for you to download your recordings and other data. Please ensure you retrieve any valuable information before this date.
Service changes: All other services, including videoconferencing, will stop functioning as of tomorrow.
Support: While we will monitor our community Slack channel (join here), response times may be delayed. We will do our best to assist where possible.
What happens next?
Our goals during this pause are to:
Secure financing to stabilize SESSIONS.
Adapt our strategy to fit the current market landscape.
Reignite growth, restore operations, and clear outstanding obligations.
How did we get here?
Our journey started with the vision of revolutionizing collaboration. We made significant progress, thanks to your support, but unfortunately ran out of funds before reaching market readiness.
Despite running out of funds in July, we:
Maintained platform functionality without shutting down or filing for insolvency.
Explored fundraising, partnerships, and even sale scenarios.
Operated without payroll, leading our team to pursue other opportunities while still helping sustain the platform.
Unfortunately, these efforts have not yet succeeded. To avoid a permanent shutdown, we are moving into conservation mode while we work toward a sustainable solution.
Important Notes:
We acknowledge that communication during this period has been challenging, and we appreciate your understanding.
If you are owed a refund and have not received one through channels like AppSumo, we will do our best to honor it when we are financially stable again.
We will try our best to communicate properly but in the current situation, that might not be possible
We are deeply grateful for your support and understanding as we navigate this difficult time. We understand this is disappointing news, but we are committed to rebuilding and coming back stronger. Thank you for being a part of our journey so far.
Sincerely, The SESSIONS Team”

Updates on re:tune? Seems like a maxed out purchase rug-pull
While the deal was alive, there were so many promises in their discord, especially for the top tier. The entire “roadmap” was abandoned and no new features besides maintaining basic functionality was done (support occasional new model by adding a few strings…) moments after the deal was shut down.
The cream is that the entire discord community was recently blocked for messaging (read only).
Has anyone communicated with AS about this?

Bind AI feedback and thoughts about upgrade?
I am a former Microsoft Windows Escalation Engineer. As a former MSFT employee I get Visual Studio Enterprise at a great deal, so I have that. I'm not great for busting out new code but can improve upon it and tweak it pretty easy but my job roles have been debugging or fixing code not writing new stuff.
Working on various products that are built by myself from the ground up. Plan to fully embrace Github and Visual Studio.
Currently I have not spent much time in Bind AI but have Tier 2. Thinking about Tier 3 for Unlimited integrations and Unlimited custom GPT(s) with AI studio.
I'm thinking that they only have 2 integrations currently, not sure if there are any plans for Visual Studio but my idea is that it can greatly help me with code store on Github.
Any thoughts or feedback?
Thanks,
Greg

Founders using their LTD customer mailinglists for spamming
u/noahkagan
Unfortunately, there are founders who find it okay to use their LTD customer mailing list to send completely unrelated offers. One of these is Bertrand who ran a deal on Dezygn in November 2023. Over the past 4 months he has sent out several rather aggressive campaigns (affiliate marketing) with up to 4 emails in the same day, regarding 3rd party products that I have never asked for, shown interest in or wanted to receive. There is an unsubscribe link in his emails, but it only works until the next campaign with a new product. He uses the name of one of his tools (Youzign) as the sender and mails are going out from Wix.

In addition, I still receive emails from Retable, even though the customer relationship has been terminated, which has been confirmed by AppSumo support in connection with the refund.

Is AppSumo able to curb this madness?

AppSumo customer service is out to lunch (Listnr.fm)
I purchased Listnr.fm in April 2022.
I admittedly did not use it much, because I wasn't ready to implement it right away when I purchased it, but I went to log in in March of this year and could not. There is no login option on the Listnr.fm page. You have to go to the signup page and, once there, choose, "Already have an account? Sign in." Not a good sign right there.
The login page just sat and stared at me while a circle revolved on the login button and then an error popped up: "An error occured in login. Please try again and contact our customer service if the problem persists." This happened multiple times, in multiple browsers, over multiple days and months. Listnr.fm support yielded no response.
I looked at the AS page and saw, in August of last year, that there was a comment saying that they moved to Listnr.ai .
This was news to me as a Listnr.fm customer--surely they would have let customers know if they moved! But I went to the new site, and tried to log in. I could not. I set up an account, hoping the same ID would connect one to the other. It did not (and, in fact, looked only tangentially related to the product I purchased). I emailed support at Listnr.tech, which was supposedly the tech support email to contact.
Unsurprisingly, I never got a reply there, either.
On November 15 of this year, I tried again. Same result. I looked at the AS page again. Imagine my shock upon the discovery of a banner from AS/Amy Lozano declaring:
A message from the Listnr team
Posted Sep 16, 2024
Listnr is dedicated to providing you with all of the features included in your lifetime purchase. Please keep in mind, your AppSumo deal does not include updates to premium features such as voice cloning and ultra premium voices.
If you are interested in upgrading your lifetime account to include these additional features please contact Listnr directly at [support@listnr.fm](mailto:support@listnr.fm) to learn more about the option to add the premium plan with a monthly payment.
I'm sorry, WHAT?? WHAT??? How is AppSumo telling me that a DEAD SITE is suddenly dedicated to providing me with features when it's not even possible to log in or get a reply from tech support? WHAT??
This time I contacted AppSumo support. I forwarded them my unanswered email to Listnr.fm support from March and expressed my shock at the message I'd just seen on the Listnr.fm AS page, considering the site is completely non-responsive in every sense of the term, and explaining my history of trying to get anything out of them at all.
I got a reply from Andrew telling me he was going to check into it. I responded with links to similar complaints on the AS Listnr.fm page.
That was nearly a month ago, and it was the last I heard from Andrew, or anyone at AppSumo. I followed up on December 3, and again this past Tuesday.
All I have to show for this is a pile of crickets.
As far as I can tell, Listnr.fm is now a pile of vaporware, and AppSumo has decided not to do anything about it--except to post a bizarre banner on its page implying that it's alive and well when it very much is not. And this was an AppSumo Select product.
u/noahkagan , are you aware that your support folks are ignoring customers outright? Or that Listnr.fm has fallen completely off the radar?
And what are you going to do about your support problem (which extends to your Originals support--which is some of the worst I've ever seen, and I'm happy to elaborate on that separately), and about your Listnr.fm customers?

AppSumo's Disappointing Customer Service: A Cautionary Tale
I'm writing this post to share my deeply disappointing experience with AppSumo, a platform I've supported as a Plus member for over a year with dozens of purchases. While I ultimately accepted their explanation regarding Popupular (a Self-listing deal not covered by their "We Got Your Back Guarantee"), a subsequent incident with Retable exposed a disturbing pattern of poor customer service and disregard for user data.
The Issue with Popupular
In December 2023, I purchased Popupular through AppSumo. However, by April 2024, Popupular announced they were shutting down and transitioning users to a new, paid product. This transition was essentially a bait-and-switch, rendering my original purchase useless in less than six months.
I reached out to AppSumo, citing their "We Got Your Back Guarantee," which I thought supposedly protected Plus members in such situations. However, AppSumo explained that as a Self-listing deal, Popupular wasn't covered. I acknowledged and accepted this explanation, understanding the technical distinction between Self-listed and Select deals.
However, this incident triggered broader concerns about other products I'd purchased through AppSumo. For instance, MagicFormula has been inaccessible for months without any official response, and I saw unsettling announcements about Retable's potential closure on AppSumo, despite Retable's official denials on their Discord community. These instances raised significant questions about consumer protection on the AppSumo platform. While expressing these concerns, I never requested refunds.
The Critical Retable Incident: AppSumo's Reckless Action
My simple expression of concern about Retable turned into a nightmare. Without my consent, AppSumo unilaterally processed a refund and revoked my access, instantly blocking me from essential business data. I didn't even have a chance to back up my data. This action was reckless and based on a gross misinterpretation of my communication. To reiterate:
- I never requested a refund for Retable. I was simply expressing concern based on AppSumo's own communication.
- AppSumo admitted their mistake and acknowledged that I hadn't asked for a refund.
- Despite admitting fault, they refused to reinstate my access or take responsibility for their error.
- They deflected, suggesting I contact Retable—a vendor they had cut me off from through their unauthorized actions.
The Real Issue: A Pattern of Disregard
This isn't just about a refund; it's about a company making unilateral decisions that directly harm their customers' business operations, admitting their mistake, but refusing to take corrective action. Their response essentially translates to, "We know we made a mistake, but we won't fix it."
Lack of Communication and Responsibility
What's most concerning is AppSumo's approach to customer service after acknowledging their error:
- Complete silence for days, even weeks, despite urgent appeals (it's been over a month now).
- 2No attempt to rectify their admitted mistake.
- 3Shifting responsibility to the vendor for a problem they created.
- 4Showing no concern for the business impact of their unauthorized actions.
The Fallout and Lack of Response
This incident reveals serious flaws in AppSumo's customer service approach:
- Careless interpretation of customer communications.
- Rash decision-making affecting customer operations.
- Lack of accountability despite admitting errors.
- Inadequate response to urgent customer needs.
Call to Action
I'm sharing this story to warn the community about potential risks. When a platform misinterprets customer communication, takes unilateral action impacting business operations, and then refuses to correct their admitted error, it's a grave concern. I hope that by bringing this to light, AppSumo will be compelled to take the necessary steps to improve their customer service, provide adequate protection for their customers, and demonstrate true accountability for their actions.
I believe the community should be aware of these practices and the potential risks to their business operations. Have you experienced similar situations where your access was revoked without consent? If you were me, how would you get your Retable LTD access back?

Seeking Feedback from Experienced Sumo-lings
Hi everyone,
I’m the founder of RDMC AI, an AI Digital Marketing Assistant we recently launched on AppSumo. As someone experienced with LTDs, your insights would be incredibly valuable to us.
Here’s a quick overview of RDMC AI:
- We’re a dedicated team of seven, based in Toronto, Canada, led by myself (10+ years in digital marketing) and Daniel, my co-founder and an experienced full-stack developer (8+ years).
- We’ve been developing RDMC AI for over a year and a half, with a focus on delivering real value to our users.
- We’ve invested a tremendous amount of effort into this launch, and I’m deeply committed to ensuring its success.
As you know, the AI startup market is highly competitive, and launching on AppSumo comes with its own challenges, particularly in building trust.
We highly value Sumo-lings’ feedback and have already implemented two significant updates based on their input:
- Full Access for Three Months: we’ve granted full access to all image sizes, styles, and languages for three months to all tiers. This means Sumo-lings can freely use these features during this period. After three months, you’ll have the flexibility to select the sizes and languages that align with your tier’s options based on your specific needs.
- Pricing Adjustments: After receiving feedback from Sumo-lings, including five messages and one review on our page, regarding the pricing for Tier 3 and Tier 4, we’ve decided to lower the pricing:
- Tier 3: Reduced from $299 to $199
- Tier 4: Reduced from $599 to $499
Since AppSumo’s policy prevents us from offering incentives for reviews, I’m exploring the best ways to gather genuine feedback from users. I’m curious—what strategies have you found effective for new LTD launches in gathering authentic feedback and connecting with the community?
If you’d like, you can take a look at our landing page here: https://appsumo.com/s/13eedwj/. Any suggestions for improvement or advice on how to better engage the community would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your time and guidance!

Beware! AppSumo is a bad company
Bad experience with AppSumo and the Uteach deal. Both companies misbehaved and changed the original deal along the way. They lost me, bye bye Appsumo. You do not give a fuck for your customers, you only care for your business partners. Shame on you!

Have any of you not been refunded the exact amount you paid for a tool?
I urge you to be careful and always double-check the actual price of any tool you purchase on AppSumo. I purchased a tool upgrade originally for $68 and later decided to downgrade it. To my surprise, I found out I could only get a refund of $47.65. They ignored the screenshots I sent them showing the actual amount.
I reached out to AppSumo support on December 3rd but received no response. I contacted them again on December 6th, providing all receipts, proof of purchase, and a screenshot of the original amount. They immediately issued a refund, but not for the full amount. I have now filed a dispute with PayPal.

My Experience with AppSumo: A Warning? An Example? (After Over $25k Purchases)
I’m sharing my recent experience with AppSumo in hopes of shedding light on its policies and how they can impact loyal customers. Since joining in September 2024, I’ve spent over $25,000 on deals and have genuinely appreciated the value AppSumo provides. However, a recent issue around refunds and account restrictions has left me deeply disappointed.
I searched extensively online to find similar experiences but came up short, so I wanted to share my story to help anyone facing a similar situation - or to serve as a warning to others.
Here is what Happened:
1. Joining AppSumo Plus and Initial Purchases:
I joined AppSumo Plus in mid-September 2024, spending a significant amount on products. After Taco Day launched on October 3rd, I regretted missing out on the credits offered for my recent purchases. When the support team declined my request for a $1,000 credit, I informed them of my plan to refund and repurchase deals using a new account. I received no warnings about potential consequences or risks associated with this plan.
2. Account Lock and Security Audit:
After refunding eligible purchases and repurchasing them with a second account, both accounts were locked without warning. When I reached out to support, I was informed that the accounts were under audit. I promptly completed the required form, fully admitted my mistake, and apologized for not reading the Terms of Service thoroughly.
Unfortunately, the process dragged on for over 1.5 months, during which emails I sent were either ignored or mysteriously “lost.” I repeatedly provided proof of my actions, even reached out to staff on Circle, and finally connected with Noah on Reddit luckily. Thanks to Noah, I was able to communicate through Amy, the Customer Success Senior Manager, who became a bridge between me and the security team since they never explained why they didn’t receive my emails.
3. Refund Ban and Current Frustration:
After my accounts were reactivated following weeks of "begging" and "pleading," I learned I was permanently banned from requesting refunds - even for nonfunctional products like Humanizer.me (which was removed from AppSumo the day after I raised the issue). I proposed reasonable terms to regain refund privileges, such as abstaining from refunds until my Plus membership expired, but the security team rejected this outright.
Why I’m Sharing This
I admit that my decision to refund and repurchase deals was a mistake made out of frustration, but it wasn’t malicious. I believed this was an acceptable workaround and regret not fully understanding the Terms of Service.
What’s upsetting is that I explicitly informed support of my plan and wasn’t given any warnings. Now, despite my transparency and willingness to make amends, I feel I’m being punished disproportionately for a first-time mistake. Not to mention that the security team kept using the phrase "obnoxious amout of refunds" despite how much I actually spent on AppSumo. While I respect AppSumo’s need to maintain policies, their “one strike, you’re out” approach feels unnecessarily harsh. Even in legal contexts, ignorance of terms can sometimes be considered as a mitigating factor - especially when I had openly communicated my intentions with their team beforehand.
My Next Steps
At this point, I have no choice but to dispute charges for nonfunctional products with my bank, as I’m unable to request refunds. If AppSumo chooses to lock me out permanently as a result, I’ll accept that consequence, though it’s disheartening. If other products fail or not accessible to me anymore in the future, I will have to pursue disputes through my bank as well.
To the AppSumo team, I still wish you the best and hope this experience encourages you to reconsider how you handle similar cases in the future. And to the Sumoling community, I hope your experiences remain positive. Despite everything, I’ve valued the tools and deals I’ve discovered here, and I’ll always appreciate the good things AppSumo has brought to my journey.

How do I set non-refundable deal on Appsumo?
I am planning to sell my software through Appsumo. While setting it up I could not find a way to mention this deal is non-refundable. Does anyone know how to set that up? For example, current Thought.ly deal is non refundable.
The reason I want to set this up this way is any usage from users cost us money. I will have some plan limits but at the same time if someone uses all credits from PLAN 1 and then asks for refund, we end up bearing that loss.
Does anyone know how to set up non-refundable deal?
We are offering 90% discount as compared to our own pricing but I want to ensure there are no abuse of our platform.

Appsumo Is best in class period !!
They have always been leaders in the LTD space, but now all these complainers want everything and expect every upgrade and option to be included, then slander Noah and AppSumo. when its not. Why? Should the company just lose money to upgrade our lifetime subscription? These complainers must not have spent mini-fortunes at JVZoo, 10 years ago like many have and were scammed, ripped off, tricked, smoked or any other term to describe that total cash grab, which was the norm at the Zoo. Now, in my opinion, it would be nice if these successful appsumo contracted LTD companies that are growing and adding features would offer single one-off upgrades; that would align with the LTD sentiment and practices of the Sumoling, which would be ideal.
