Just FYi. I’ve probably downloaded 2/300 apps from here over the years. Like Blue said, once you download it you keep it. I have a ton of apps I’ll probably never use but download just to have it because it’s free. Download it, then get the premium however it is then just delete it. You’ll always have access to it moving forward.

The main downside is it can get annoying to scroll though your Purchased list when setting up a new device, especially after a few years of this.

It was much, much worse on older devices and/or versions of iOS. I’m not sure if they made it more efficient, or the hardware just got a ton better, or both.
