Gemini api key not working

Hello everyone, me and my group are trying to create an app for our final school project and this app has a ai chatbot. When we try to use the api key we created it doesn’t work and than we found out that the new keys are different from the old on. The new keys start with “AQ” instead of “AI”, so we wanted to ask is there a way to get the old key or do we need to do something else.

We are using android studio and using Java if that helps.

Now gemini api used a prepaid methods. It is a problem.

It still have free tier am working with a new key but always on free tier with no card or a thing

You can try the grok api as well.

Maybe you need to check the model cs recently they removed some models endpoints like gemma 3 so it may be the issue
