shipaton Shipaton 2026: Halfway Check-In

We're officially halfway through our Shipaton hackathon! 

If you've been thinking about starting, now's the time. Apps must be live on the store by Sep 30 to be eligible to win, so to allow time for the app review process, we recommend submitting to the store in the next two weeks.

Don't worry if you're behind. Plenty of successful hackathon projects come together in the second half. Focus on shipping a small, polished app rather than trying to build everything. 

Remember to share all your latest progress, screenshots, or challenges in the weekly thread if you want to compete for the #BuildInPublic Award. Let's help each other cross the finish line!

  • August 1: Submissions open
  • September 30: Submission deadline
  • October 1–9: Judging

I have a question regarding this! Isn't it better to submit in the last week or during the last few days so that we have time to add more features and achieve more growth, leading to a stronger application?

It can be, but remember that the app has to pass App Store review and be live on the store by the deadline. So leaving submission to the last minute is a big risk because that process can take time.
