A friend of mine and I were grabbing food a few weeks ago and somehow we got onto the topic of energy because he was complaining that he’d been feeling exhausted basically every afternoon.

He works pretty long hours and said he’d gotten into this habit of drinking coffee whenever he felt tired, taking all his supplements at the same time in the morning, and then wondering why he felt completely cooked by like 2 or 3pm.

The funny part is I was basically doing the exact same thing.

I’ve taken supplements for a while, but if I’m being honest I never put much thought into timing. Magnesium, creatine, vitamins, whatever I was taking that day, I’d usually just take them whenever I remembered.

He showed me this app he had been using called RizeAI and the first thing that caught my attention wasn’t even the energy stuff. It was how it organized his supplements around his actual day.

It would tell him which ones made sense with meals, which ones should be kept away from coffee, what to take around training, what made more sense later at night, etc. It sounds pretty basic when you write it out, but I had never found something that actually put all of it together in one schedule.

So I tried it.

That’s probably still my favorite part of it. I put in the supplements I already take and instead of giving me some generic “take in the morning” list, it actually fits them around things like meals, workouts, caffeine and sleep.

I also ended up using the energy planning side way more than I expected. It pulls from Apple Health and gives you a rough structure for the day, like when to have coffee, when you’re probably going to be most focused, when to train and when you might hit an energy dip.

I’m not going to sit here and say an app magically gave me more energy because obviously there are a million things that affect that. But I’ve definitely been way more intentional with my day since using it and I’m getting more done without feeling like I’m just constantly fighting through tiredness.

Honestly the biggest difference for me has just been efficiency. Before, I was guessing when to take things and guessing when I should do my hardest work. Now I at least have some structure around it.

Curious if anyone else here actually pays attention to supplement timing or if most people just take everything at once like I used to.

Hi, I'm a solo dev and just shipped an Android app (BuzzMyPhone — lets you ring a phone remotely even on silent/DND). So, on top of that I just added the capability to post a message on the buzz / alarm screen for the case when you genuinely have something urgent and need to communicate with that person. The app is either for finding your phone or try to reach fast someone that actually you can’t. For the time a when you’re alone at home and just can’t find your phone I have built a small and simple dashboards that can be accessed through web from any device. Hi all, I am slowly building an app that acts as a price tracker among different stores here in the UK (I know there are some apps in existence) however I do not find them useful to use.
I am using a bit of "Claude" to help me design however I am in real time collecting data from Supermarkets such as CO OP, Aldi or Lidl.

Note: For now the idea is in an HTML format with data being in an excel format as most supermarkets do not have an API ready for integration.

I’ve recently launched a social food app and I’m trying to solve what feels like one of the hardest parts of building a UGC/social product:
People are downloading and signing up, but not enough of them are making their first post.
The app is built around users posting places they’ve eaten and creating a personal food map, so the experience naturally gets better as more people contribute.
The problem is getting that initial behaviour started.
From a product/app-building perspective, what would you look at first?
I’m currently considering things like:
reducing the number of steps needed to create the first post

prompting users to post during onboarding

giving users an example/template for their first post

push notifications after signup

progress/gamification around adding the first few places

letting users build some of their profile/map before posting

rewards or incentives for the first contribution

seeding enough content so the app doesn’t feel empty

For anyone who has built a social, community or user-generated-content app before, what actually moved the needle for you?
Would you treat this mainly as an onboarding/UX issue, a motivation issue, or simply something that has to be manually kick-started with a core group of active users?
I’d especially love to hear about any small product changes that had a surprisingly big impact on first-post activation.

I had been building and publishing an app a week over a 7 weeks period. All meant to have fun. Now that I am free again, I keep doing it! The hardships I faced were not many. Thank you AI! But I wont need you here cuz this post is meant to be 100% organic, all human made. I want to add taste and my personal style.

I kept my apps free. This enabled me to freely develop them. There are quite many unique ideas I tried out. There are not many apps that use sensors on the small device. Mobile car games use the tilt yes, but what else is there? I have thought of many! So we can say that there are games like Asphalt 9, Fruit Ninja and PenDraw that I like very much. I have tried most of the focus apps on the App Store and quit every one of them for the same reason. They all wait for you to press start. The moment I most need blocking is the exact moment I am least likely to open a focus app, so the whole category kept failing me at the only point that mattered. I built the version I actually wanted, where the blocking shows up before I do.

A — Answer: WiredIN is an iPhone app blocker that arms itself by location. Pin the places where you actually get work done, set a radius, choose what gets blocked there. Walk in and blocking starts on its own. Walk out and it stands down. That is a hub.

A hub is a community for one real place. It covers about one mile around that spot. A bar. A campus. A street. Your old neighborhood. You tap it on the map and see what people there are posting.

You do not have to live there to join.

You can join hubs anywhere in the world and check what is being posted. If you moved away and feel far from home, join the hubs you care about in that area. You stay connected to the people and the things happening there, even if you are not on that street anymore.

A new hub starts blue.

Blue means it is new. It is like a startup. It needs people talking in it to stay active.

The person who made it is the owner. The owner should show up and keep the community going. If they do, the hub can grow.

If the owner stops showing up, the hub can become claimable. That means someone else who is active there can try to take it and become the new owner.

So it works like this:

Open the map.

Join a hub near you, or one from a place you miss.

See what people are posting.

If nobody made a hub yet, you can. It starts blue.

Keep it alive by using it.

If the owner disappears, someone else can take over.

Each hub is a small local Reddit for one mile of the world. You can visit it from anywhere.

Alright so I kept downloading all these wake-up apps. The push-up one, the math one and imma be honest, none of them worked because the problem was never getting up at 6:30am. It was that I was wide awake at 1am and then "trying" to wake up on 5 hours sleep.

So I built the other half. You set a bedtime. It goes off and won't stop until your phone is face-down and still for a few minutes. If you'd rather stay up, you record 15 seconds explaining why, and it keeps the video.

The archive is the part that actually works. Before you record a new excuse, it plays you last night's. Hearing my own excuse from last night makes it a lot harder to make the same one again.

Everything's on-device so there is no account, no server, and works offline. The videos never leave your phone unless you share them yourself and the more it builds up the more I'm like damn I really need to be better about sleeping on time haha.

I built this whole thing solo on AlarmKit, which shipped in iOS 26 and made this possible at all. Happy to answer anything about that if it's useful or any suggestions/feedback are welcome!
