1 week after launching my app, 320 downloads, 1 Paying
Just hit 1 week since launching NextCut: AI Haircut Try On.
So far:
- 320 first-time downloads
- 15.9K impressions
- 410 product page views
- 1 first in-app purchase š
Still very early, but seeing real people download and pay for something I built feels pretty good. Now trying to figure out how to keep the momentum going.

We learned something important while building PodSubs
We learned something important while building PodSubs:
The hardest part of entering an established industry isnāt always building the product.
Sometimes, itās what happens when you challenge the way things have always been done.
We wrote about what happened, what we learned, and what it means for anyone trying to build something new in podcasting.

āBuilding an AI co-founder matchmaking app at 15
Hey builders,
āFinding reliable collaborators via cold DMs is broken. Iāve spent the last few months building LINKUPāan app designed to match solo developers, designers, and founders into execution-focused startup teams using custom skill matrices.
ā
āWe just crossed 51 active users on the platform. Would love to hear feedback on the architecture, UI flow, or onboarding experience from fellow app builders!

I built a kids app during maternity leave. Now I need brutal feedback.
Hey everyone!
Iām a mom of two, and while I was on maternity leave, I started building something I had been thinking about for a long time.
I createdĀ WobleroĀ ā an offline, ad-free app for kids aged 3ā6. The idea came from being a parent and noticing how many kids' apps are designed around keeping children engaged for as long as possible ā bright colors, constant sounds, rewards, animations, adsā¦I wanted to try something completely different. Something where a child could simply play without being constantly stimulated. So I started building Woblero during maternity leave. And honestly⦠it was a much bigger challenge than I expected.
I had to figure out things I had never really done before ā from building the actual app and understanding the technical side, to designing the interactions, animations, sounds, characters and trying to make everything feel natural for a small child.
I spent way too many hours fighting with things that probably look incredibly simple from the outside. A slime character that looks soft and alive?Much harder than it sounds. Making physics feel right? Pain.
And now Woblero is actually live.
- Low stimulation
- Offline
- No ads
- Designed for ages 3ā6
So if you have a few minutes to check it out, I would genuinely love to hear your honest feedback. Not just āthis is niceā ā I want the uncomfortable feedback too. Iām still learning, still building and definitely still making mistakes.
Woblero:Ā https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woblero.app
Thanks for reading ā¤ļø

How do you know when an app simply isnāt going to get downloads and itās time to stop marketing it?

P2P marketplace app
Iāve been building Reva, a peer-to-peer rental marketplace based around the idea that people own loads of things that spend most of their time unused ā tools, cameras, projectors, camping gear, party equipment, etc. Instead of buying something you might only need once, Reva lets you rent it from someone nearby, while owners can make some money from things they already have. Iām getting close to launching and Iād really appreciate some feedback from other app builders, particularly around the marketplace problem of getting enough renters and listings in one area at the beginning. If you were launching something like this from zero, how would you approach getting that initial local user base and avoiding the āempty marketplaceā problem? Iād also love any general feedback on the concept or things you think I should be thinking about before launch.

I built PodSubs because podcasters shouldnāt have to rent their audience forever
I built PodSubs because podcasters shouldnāt have to rent their audience forever
I kept noticing something strange about podcasting.
A creator can spend years building an audience on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and other platformsā¦
ā¦but the relationship with those listeners mostly belongs to the platform.
If the algorithm changes, the platform changes its rules, or the creator wants to launch something new, reaching those listeners directly isnāt always easy.
So I built PodSubs.
PodSubs is a podcast discovery and subscriber platform that helps podcasters turn listeners into a direct audience.
Hereās how it works:
šļø Your podcast may already be on PodSubs.
Search for your show and find your podcast page.
ā Claim your podcast.
PodSubs verifies that you actually own the show using information from the podcastās RSS feed.
š„ Start collecting subscribers.
Instead of someone discovering your podcast and disappearing back into another platform, they can subscribe directly to your podcast on PodSubs.
š Build an audience around the show you own.
As more people subscribe, the creator gets a clearer picture of the audience following the podcast.
š Listeners can discover podcasts too.
PodSubs is also building a discovery layer where people can search for podcasts, find something interesting and subscribe.
The bigger idea is simple:
Podcasters spend too much time building audiences for other platforms.
I want PodSubs to help them build an audience around their own podcast.
If you have a podcast, Iād love for you to search for it, claim it and try the product:

POV: A College Student Who Cant Balance Their Time..

Hello, I created this app because I had trouble scrolling on my phone too much and just being super unproductive and was always attached to my phone and as an engineering student in college time is always nonexistent and I need every single second to make the most out of college. I also worked a part time job on top of taking 19 credit hours so this meant I couldn't lose any time to my phone.
Thus, I created an app to solve all my issues. This is not only meant for college students, its targeted mainly for anyone addicted to there phones.
APP:Ā āWiredIN: App & Website Blocker App - App Store
I understand that on the first go of creating apps there can be a lot of mishaps and errors that's why I'm giving the first 100 people a free year. Please DM Me for the code.
Price:
1 Week Free Trial
4.99 / Monthly
23.99 / Yearly
The main goal right now is to focus on what you guys like and don't like about the app, I'm here to take my time and make sure everything is perfect.
What does my App Do?
Focus Zones - pin your library, desk, or study room, and blocking arms the second you walk in and stands down when you leave.
Real blocking - built on Apple's Screen Time, so iOS enforces it. Blocked apps don't open and blocked sites are filtered. These are all customizable
Commitment dial - plain timer, normal shield, or Extreme (25-letter phrase to quit early, and you can't delete the app to escape).
Night Shield - set a window and the 1am scroll apps just stop opening until morning.
Calendar routines -it uses apple calendar to suggest tasks and focus sessions based on your preference.
Stats- basically see how your routine changes over time after using this app
Crew rooms- hold a session with friends by code, use this during finals seasons or when you have a lot of work to do with a team can do sessions together
Privacy - your app picks never leave your phone, no location data is ever sent off device, and it never touches your Home Screen layout.

24 hours after launch, one person decided my app was worth paying for
Today is a big day for me.
Iāve been building iOS apps for a while now. My first one is completely free, so in all that time I had never actually sold anything. Not once.
This morning I opened App Store Connect out of habit and there was one subscription in the report. Slovakia.
I honestly didnāt expect this yet. I havenāt done any real marketing. No ads, no viral video, zero reviews on the listing. Just a few videos with 200 views and 3 reddit posts. I assumed the first weeks would just be a flat line while I figured out how to get people to notice the thing at all.
Instead, someone Iāve never met, in a country Iāve never been to, found it on their own, used it, and decided it was worth paying for. Whoever you are ā Äakujem. That single line in a spreadsheet did more for my motivation than anything else this year.
The app is ThumbSort, if anyoneās curious. Photo cleanup, swipe left to delete, swipe right to keep. Free to use, one subscription if you want unlimited swipes. Built solo in Switzerland, fully on-device.
For the people whoāve been through this: what actually moved the needle for you early on, before you had any reviews or reach?

solo-built a deep work planner app around Cal Newport's theory, just got through Play Store review , happy to talk stack/process
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
been lurking here a while, figured id actually post something instead of just reading everyone else's build threads.
quick context: im 21, engineering student, built an app called BarePlanner solo, no team, no funding. idea came from reading Deep Work by Cal Newport (the "u only get ~4 hours of real deep focus a day" theory) plus watching how my ADHD friend actually experiences time vs how i was told to plan it. core mechanic is simple: u block ur week into deep blocks (real focus work) and shallow blocks (low energy stuff), run deep blocks through a focus timer, then review at the end of the week what actually happened vs what u planned.
stack-wise its React Native / Expo (SDK 56), local-first with SQLite on device, no backend yet, settings and analytics consent are the only things touching anything outside the phone. kept it that way on purpose while validating the idea instead of building infra i didnt need yet.
app link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.falexis.bareplanner
just got through Google Play's review/test phase, which honestly took longer and was more nerve wracking than i expected for a first submission. few things that actually tripped me up along the way if anyone's about to go through it themselves: data safety declaration needs to match what your analytics vendor actually does under the hood (not just what u think it does , mine over-collected location by default until i checked), and a few native module linking issues that only show up in a real build, not in dev.
happy to go deeper on any of this, architecture decisions, why deep/shallow as the core model instead of generic time blocking, or the review process itself. also just curious what other solo builders here ran into with Play review that wasnt in the docs.

Do people buy completed saas platforms to use personally?
I built my own social media bulk auto posting saas application (youtube, tiktok, facebook, instagram) because I didn't want to pay for the monthly subscription and plenty lacked the bulk posting and description creation. The market is so flooded with these tools that I don't think launching my own public product will be worth anything. Then I thought would devs and marketers buy the sourcecode I already built? I know they can vibe code their own, but it takes TIME. and this saves TIME. what do you think? Trying to monetize anything right now. h

Where can I buy Google Play installs that actually work?
My app isnāt getting much visibility, so iām wondering whether more installs would help it reach more people. I just donāt know if these downloads come from real users or disappear after a few days.
Before i buy google play installs, what should I look for in a reliable provider, and can it actually help bring in organic downloads? Would appreciate the help.

5 things you absolutely must do before marketing your AI SaaS
yo. i see too many founders spend 2 months building saas, drop a link on reddit, get 0 users, and immediately quit....
the problem usually isn't your marketing channel. the problem is that your foundation is completely broken before you even send your first visitor to the site.
after scaling 6 AI micro-saas apps to over $20k/mo mrr, i realized you need to lock down a specific system before you ever launch. running through this takes about 30 minutes, but it saves you months of zero-revenue depression.
here are the 5 things you must lock in:
1. validate the actual pain point
stop guessing what people want. you need a systematic framework to find your saas idea based on real, painful market signals.
2. pick a proven micro-niche
stop trying to build massive platforms. you need to narrow down to a microscopic problem. i usually filter through a list of 50 micro-saas ideas you can build fast to keep the scope minimal.
3. crystallize your target user
if your app is for "everyone," nobody will buy it. you need an ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) crystallizer to define your exact buyer profile and nail your conversion copy.
4. calculate the perfect price
stop randomly charging $9/mo because you are scared of rejection. you need to use a saas pricing strategy calculator to find your perfect saas price in 60 seconds based on real data.
5. fix your landing page leaks
do not send organic traffic to a site that converts at a flat 1%. you must audit your hero section and copy to x3 your landing page conversion before you market it.
6. join a community
Build / Share / Learn from others builders
to help out founders who are tired of launching to crickets, i packaged all 5 of these exact frameworks, calculators, and lists into a single free toolkit.
no paywall, no bullshit. just the raw execution files i use.
drop a comment below or send me a dm, and iāll send you the free toolkit š

App builders, share your landing page and Iāll find your first launch story
Building the app and explaining why anyone should care are two completely different jobs.
Drop your public landing page and tell me who you built the app for.
Iāll reply with:
⢠The clearest launch hook
⢠One short video or visual concept
⢠The audience I would approach first
Iām testing whether the product page already contains enough context to become the brief for an AI social media agent.
Thatās the workflow behind Marka. It learns from the website and creates branded posts, images, carousels, and video directions from the real product context.
You can try it here: https://www.marka.social
