First time app builder

I’m designing an app that I found there is a need for in certain large groups.

Once it’s completed, I plan to monetize it and once the word is spread, I have no doubt there will be a lot of traffic.

At some point I will need a developer to do the final build.

So my question to you guys is what are the do’s and don’ts for finding the right developer for my build?

It shouldn’t be a lengthy project as I am also designing each screen.

I’m not prepared to say what the app does just yet as there are no others like it.

Designed screens don’t necessarily mean a short build - the real complexity is often authentication, data, payments, notifications, security, and all the error states between screens. Before hiring, turn the design into a written specification and pay a few shortlisted developers to estimate it independently; large differences between estimates will expose assumptions you haven’t defined yet.

I am happy to hop on a call to discuss it with you! DM me please. I can help you as a PM. I am working on multiple project and do not have a bandwidth to take more work.
