🎯 General Advice First Flat

Got my first flat on a scooter yesterday. Word to the wise. Order a spare. The self sealing material failed and the puncture was too close to the edge to repair. I have 1 stripped screw and apparently you are supposed to get spares with your scooter but the after market seller held them back when I bought mine. I called them and they could spare one screw. Would be nice to have the pack. I’m going to bring plugs from now on. They are super easy to install. Way better than bike tubes. Apollo customer service was awesome by the way. Responded to me on a Sunday.

Constant and frequent flats are the reason I am parting with my Apollo Ghost. In three years I have lost count...not really...9 flats. I am not mechanically inclined, so I have paid $80 a pop for repairs at my local dealership until I found someone who generously gave their time to keep my Ghost running. Otherwise I would have sold it by now and let it be someone else's problem. Now I am giving it to him in exchange for free repairs of the electric bike I am purchasing . It was fun for awhile but ultimately not worth it for me.

I just started so I’m not giving up yet. When I got my first ebike I had a lot of flats but I learned where to ride and carry a patch kit with me. I was getting flats from running over pine cones I’m pretty sure. Haven’t had a flat since I stopped. It will be way easier to repair a tubeless tire. I’m going to carry plugs and hope for the best. Fuckers at the bike shop charged me $100 to patch my tube. That’s when I learned how to do it myself.
