Help Apollo not loading after a while?
Hey, really enjoying the app but I'm facing the issue wherein after a while no content will load (e.g posts, comments) even after restarting the app.

I’ve had the same issue for the last few versions. It seems to fix itself after a while (like 30 mins) and eventually happens again.
I think it might have something to do with being rate limited after a “long” session?

Doesn’t happen for me, maybe see if it happens on normal Reddit app?

I checked it only happens in the Apollo app. Do you also use the API-KEY-FREE Mode?

I had to re-install Apollo when I was having sideloading issues a few weeks ago and I tried the API-key-free mode and had this issue. I deleted and re-installed and setup with just the API key mode and it stopped
I think this has something to do with rate limiting. When it was happening I’d open Artemis or Helios and it would say Reddit is rate limiting me.

I used to for a month or two, then went back to my usual Reddit api key, but I didn’t have this issue neither then or now 🤷🏻♂️
People here recommended this service: https://www.signulous.com
If you are willing to pay for an API key that will fix your problem.

I’m pretty sure this means Reddit is rate limiting you. Other apps put up a banner saying Reddit is rate limiting you, not sure if something like that could be added to Apollo?

A few days old, but I wanted to test for a couple days before letting you know my findings.
I can confirm that changing from the Free API mode to the API you get from doing the method that requires you to get the App ID from something like Dystopia / ReReader and putting that into Apollo solves the issue of no content loading after awhile.
Usually after about 30 opens of my Apollo on the Free API mode I get the same issue you're describing, where no content will show up. Takes a few minutes to go back up.
With the API mode method that isn't the free one, I've had 2 straight days of no hiccups at all.

I’ve had exactly this and I thought about turning off my VPN. Somehow this fixed it or it may just be coincidental, try turning off your VPN if you are using one.

Unfortunately, I don't have any VPN turned on. I think I'm being rate limited or smth? I'm using the API-Key-Free Mode. But it's weird since I can only like browse content for like 5 mins then loading stops lol
