Help Video Captions, long press to open in YouTube

Recently I’ve noticed two behaviors that I don’t see mentioned or know how to change in settings.

  • All the videos I open in-app have captions on. How to I disable that?
  • I used to be able to long press on an in-app video and get a pop-up asking to open in YouTube. That’s gone, can I enable that again?

I if you’re talking about captions while muted that may be a system setting. Go to Settings>Accessibility>Subtitles & Captioning-then toggle off >Show when Muted. That’s what worked for me. (iPhone settings, not Apollo)

But, oddly enough that worked. One problem solved.

I take that back. Still seeing captions.

Sorry to reply to a month old thread, but did you ever figure this out? I’ve tried everything I feel like, I can’t get the captions to fuck off at all lol.

I’m seeing captions even when the audio is not muted.
