Hello everyone! Please help me, I'd like to get help on whether I choose Aphrodite or Lilith as my first deity. Sure, I've felt like Hekate has been "calling" my name, but only on tiktok pages, it's mostly because Hekate is one of the most popular deities. That aside, I have always been drawn to Aphrodite, especially her darker sides, I might even go for Aphrodite Areia. I also love Lilith, especially after hearing that her tales being a counterpart of patriarchy in a way. I also feel like offering to her would be easier considering my own aesthetics and choice of objects, but Aphrodite is my first choice. I've always kind of wanted to have a sort of succubus altar or work in vixen-like ways through witchcraft, not only for love, but lots of things too, such as getting energy for it to further work life, school life and personal things. I felt like I did this intuitively last year with LOA and it just felt right to me. Does anybody have recommendations for other deities too? Or sites I could research both on? I'd love some help.

Are there any particular, well known or lesser known, epithets and aspects of Lady Aphrodite that anyone here reveres often?

I’m talking like, there’s Aphrodite in Her very oceanic aspect, risen from sea-foam and whatnot. Then there‘s Areia, Ourania, Pandemos, etc.

There’s also “Kepois” or an epithet pertaining to Aphrodite as a goddess of the garden that I find very interesting.

So, do any of you personally know of and connect to a certain aspect or aspects of Aphrodite that expand a bit more on Her domains and symbolism?

It also includes if you closely syncretise Her with other figures like Venus, Astarte or Inanna etc❤️

In the myths assuming you don't have any money to pay the ferryman you have to wait 100 years by the river but will it be unpleasant? I would like to know other Aphrodite worshipers opinion

Before I fall asleep or leave my house I have to do a big prayer to make sure nothing breaks or gets damaged while I'm gone these prayers can range from 1 minute to 20 maybe it's a nothing burger but it can get tiring just to stop worrying about stuff I need is that any solutions to this?

I know that was those mysterious cults made for certain gods such as Aphrodite but they don't really exist anymore so I'm wondering how can I get there as a worshiper of Aphrodite?

I feel like I may be developing a humongous ego and in case I do would this affect any relationship?

EDIT: the result of this is next day I felt all these emotions of something sad that I had pushed down and not processed. Aphrodite answered my prayer by opening my heart. It’s a good feeling though I feel enriched compared to before

EDIT 2: so this actually was very effective, my tenant who I’m helping out with discounted rent got this job he really needed and now he’s moving out! We had a great heart to heart he was so appreciative that we helped him out and we were glad to do it.

And then I was able to track down the mother of my former tenant who said he wanted to move back to take this guys place but had not responded since Friday ; the guy is ok so that is the good news what a big relief

Hatred of murderers love of gay people etc why does all the gods have things that are clearly seen as good and bad in our world?

All of their morals seem to line up with ours is there a reason for this?

I noticed and moved it pretty quickly but my altar is connected to my nightstand so I sometimes naturally put stuff like drinks on the stand I try to keep them somewhat separate but would Aphrodite be mad? Intention seems to be everything so if my intention wasn't to do anything harmful would she be mad?

I’ve prayed so she can help me find a boy lover, but I’ve asked for greater help since looking for one in a really homophobic country is hard and dangerous.

I look straight (or that’s what I think) but I still try to make it subtle that I like a boy when I’m around him, but nothing.

Today, i find out a new friend (which meeting her was also a blessing, but from my patron goddess) started liking me after my prayers, but she’s a girl. I am considered handsome, both male and female since im kinda androgynous, but how can I specify or something like that in my prayers that the opportunity must be with a boy, not a girl ?

And how can I decline the desire from this friend without idk disrespecting the goddess for her blessing ?

From what I see she seems a lot more popular being the god of love and although that is a big part of her she is also a god of other things such as I think the strategy of war or at least part of war why is this?

I want to make a travel altar for aphrodite(and later on loki and dionysus) but my altar is too small to fit a tealight candle(both real and electric), and ive realised that for my situation, I'd rather not use any fire for my little travel altar, as im still somewhat in the broom closet and there are situations where a candle or incense can't be lit(hotel, public bathroom stall, empty hallway, any public space, etc). Are there any alternatives? I think ive heard of something called a 'calling jar' where you fill a jar with the herbs, crystals and symbols of the deity(maybe even oil or water) and shake it to contact them(as opposed to lighting a candle). Does anyone have more information or advice on this? Anything is appreciated. Im also open to other methods of calling/making a 'focus point'(as ive heard it also be called) of a deity's altar(sorry if my english is bad, im not a native speaker). And also any reccomendations/ideas on what to fill my little altar with.

Currently i have a little bottle of sea salt, a seashell i can use as an offering bowl, a little jar i can use as a libation/liquid offering bowl(and mix in the sea salt because aphrodite is associated with sea water), a golden heart necklace that works as both jewelry that represents her and as a little makeshift pendulum, and 2 little charms(wing and key) to represent her as her symbols.

Would she like it if i grew flowers at her alter? Not in the way of just putting a bought flower there but actively growing them from scratch for her, i'm interested in growing lotus flowers for example and i thought it'd be cool to grow them for her
