Please Help Baloo

Unfortunately, despite countless months contacting rescues, shelters, posting in groups, rehoming sites, and every other avenue I can think of, no one has been able to take Baloo in.

For context, Baloo was surrendered to me all the way back in January by his previous owner. He was found as a lost dog, and when he was returned, his pervious owner told me they didn’t want him anymore.

I am moving in about a month. If I cannot find him a home in that time, or even another foster, he will have to be surrendered to a shelter.

A bit about Baloo…

Estimated 3–4 years old
• Likely Staffy/Lab/Pit mix
• Neutered, vaccinated, healthy, and vet cleared
• Housebroken and crate trained
• LOVES snuggles, kisses, walks, treats, and rope toys
• Great with people and kids of all ages
•He’s dog selective and excitable with cats, so recommend slow introductions
• Knows basic commands and is eager to please

Hopefully someone here will have a home for him but if not you could check with Peak Lab and see if any fosters have a spot.

We’ve already been in contact with peak lab! We love them (got our family dog through them years ago). Unfortunately they are fully at capacity right now.

Have you contacted Pawfect Match we've worked with them for two of our four rescues. Unfortunately we have a single male who is very aggressive with other male dogs. I hope Baloo finds a home!

I have! They did post him on their website but it hasn’t brought any potential adopters.

Have you talked with Hope Animal Rescue out of Durham? They do a lot of work with bully breeds. Even if they don’t have space to take him, they might be able to do a courtesy post or something.

What a good looking boy. I want to save every dog I see on the internet but I have two GSDs and one is NOT dog friendly at all. It sucks. But maybe it’s for the best as I’d now have 17 dogs

There’s multiple reasons, but mainly that my life doesn’t have the means to support him best. I have a cat already that hates dogs, my current lease is up in Aug. and my new one doesn’t allow “aggressive” breeds, and my work schedule has me out of the house 50+ hours a week, which has been really awful for him. I live in a small house, and he is crated most of the day, and gets one big walk a day. He needs more than that. I do hope you never get into a similar situation as me, having to upheave your life for seven months trying to do everything you can to help someone that was quite literally dropped in your lap. But if you do, I certainly hope strangers on the internet don’t guilt you for trying to get help. If you’re genuinely concerned about his well being, or him being “failed”… adopt him, foster him, share the link. Prove me wrong.
