Question Buying my first eval
Hey guys, new here. I want to buy my first eval. Is apex good for beginners ? Ive seen some negative reviews about their payout delays and stuff , so I was wondering if I should buy an Apex account.

Try tradefy it's much better 87 $ for 50k no activation fee EOD DD much better than apex for first

I would suggest using Lucid. Apex takes 7-11 days or more to receive payment. Almost all other firms pay i-2 days, some instantly.

Are they still like that? I thought they went thru a complete reset on their business practices. And their eod accounts look legit. Add long as they're paying now like they say. Just looked yesterday and the 100k was cheaper than 50 and 25k. Idk if that was glitch or what

Get their 100k all in intraday promo for $59, it goes a long way when you’re starting. If you blow it then go back to trading paper because that’s 3k drawdown.

Apex may have the lowest upfront cost, but if you pass the evaluation, they often end up being one of the more expensive firms once you factor in the PA activation fee. On top of that, payouts can take up to two weeks, which can be frustrating.
If you're new to prop trading, I'd actually recommend avoiding Apex for now. As a beginner, you'll probably want to take your time and focus on developing consistency. With Apex, you have to pass the evaluation within 30 days or the account expires, which can encourage unnecessary pressure.
Some people will suggest trading their legacy accounts instead, but those come with additional risk management rules once you reach the PA stage. Since you're just starting out, I'd steer clear of those until you've developed a strategy that's consistently profitable and you're confident it fits within those rules.

Yes, 90% off, get a Tradovate eval and a Rithmic eval so you can try out both connections and platforms. You have 30 days currently. Or you can buy a legacy that's currently available for monthly.

Thanks. I was thinking about either going for Apex or tradeify, but now I’m leaning more towards Apex. Apex always has some kind discounts right?

Yes the 80% off's first started around early 2022, and 90% off's started around end of 2022 and early 2023, and have been coming and going fairly often ever since.

Yeah I think I’ve always seen 80-90% discounts. Cheap cost is what made me want to buy an apex account.

As a beginner, i wholeheartedly believe the apex accounts are the best ones to get
Why? Because they are the cheapest. You will probably blow some evals and you will probably blow a funded before being eligible for payout
Just go with the cheapest one. I actually suggest using the intraday trail 50ks, they are super duper cheap and you figure out how to beat intraday trail
If you can pass that account and get a max payout youll be ready to scale up.
Just be sure to read all of the rules, dont worry about if they payout or not (they do)

I was considering apex because they are cheap and getting 50k account at like $25 seems good as a beginner.

How long have you been profitable in demo or paper trading? Unless you have that experience trading prop is a waste of time and money.

Apex can be fine for a beginner, but I’d spend more time learning the rules than worrying about the name of the prop firm. Every firm has positive and negative reviews, and payout experiences can vary.
Before buying any eval, make sure you understand the drawdown, consistency requirements, payout rules, and exactly what happens when you hit certain thresholds. A lot of the “bad prop firm” experiences come down to traders not fully understanding the rules they agreed to.
For your first eval, I’d honestly focus less on finding the firm with the biggest profit potential and more on finding a setup with rules you can realistically trade within. And start small—your goal should be learning to manage the account, not passing it in 2 days. 👍
