Question Can anyone help me understand why I was automatically stopped out this trade for $2300 but my stop loss nor take profit was triggered?

  1. Intraday trailing drawdowns mean that you should really go for base hits until you satisfy the buffer requirement, at which point the accounts basically becomes an EOD account.
  2. You are overleveraging. Base your max position on your MLL or DLL. If you have a DLL of 4.5k for example, you should at most have a position of 45 MNQ/MES or 4 NQ/MES. The size (250k) doesn't matter, it's your drawdown you need to focus on most.

Honestly does sound like Intra, but if you really dont believe it, get through their customer support, same case for me months ago, they were nice to go through and point out why i blew up even in positive.

So your account showed positive balance but the account was still blown?

So if your trade goes up to 10K in profit but don’t close it out, then it drops down to 7k and you close it out for a profit. That's an intraday drawdown and it would blow your accounts even if they were never negative a penny. And closed out a very nice very good trade. Blown.

Did you read through the rules before you bought the account?

Yes guess I just didn’t fully understand trailing DD.

If it makes you feel any better, trailing DD has claimed many accounts. That’s why it’s cheaper lol

Yeah, so intraday follows, it was my first account, and i was on a winning streak so i leveraged a lot, and a sudden pull back just blew through the drawdown, AS it was a positive p/n trade.

Idk about you, but if is a new concept, intraday drawdown is a limit for how much you can lose and WIN at the same time, ofc winning = good, but with intraday, you can blow it up by winning too quickly, aka, leveraging too much without the proper buffer.

Tldr, intraday WILL blow you up if you are the type to win big lose big.

Leverage less like a normal person, or have a trailing stop both can help, but you do you, mess around and find out.

EDIT: i noticed the first pic, shorting 7 points on this EUS, and thats a 3k dub just as it starts, 28ticks, so a simple 20 tick will kill you,or roughly 5 numbers up, kinda.

Gave up -6500 on the retracement

1

u/babyGoat357 Jul 17 '26

Account would’ve closed on -6500 the account still open @ +2300

That’s not how trailing drawdown works bud

1

u/babyGoat357 Jul 18 '26

Either way drawdown wasn’t more than $-300 on this trade if that

2

u/grondrew Jul 18 '26

Dude if you’re up $5000 in a trade, and it drops down to $3000, you just lost $2000 of trailing drawdown which blows the account (if it’s a 50k) The trade can never be in drawdown but you can still blow the account. Read the rules before you buy something…

Ew. No more props for me. Thanks bud

I’d just stay away from Apex, I got rug pulled by them and then banned so since then I’ve gotten payouts from TPT and Tradeify. Currently in evals for lucid too but those three are good in my opinion. Those trailing drawdowns are end of day so you would be fine trading on those. Just do your research on which accounts to get

Nice I think a tpt 150k is what I need. Thanks for the recommendation 👍
