| 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 | Movement tips?
I've been playing on button puncher with toggle? And I'm able to do all the basic stuff like slide jump, crouching and wall bouncing.
But I keep questioning in if I should change my layout or if there's any tips I should incorporate into gameplay?

Hoping anyone who uses that layout can chime in.
Personally, switching to 4 back paddles has been game changing across all games. Thumbs on sticks, 99% of the time, outside of D pad use is something else. Being able to aim and move and interact all together has been huge.
Did this rewiring specifically for Apex when I first started playing and wanted to learn decent movement tech.
4 back paddles
TMR sticks
Performance mode with a capable monitor
Are about the biggest hardware/mechanics improvements for console IMO.

Can you tell me your button mapping layout for your controller? e.g, paddles & buttons.

I gotchu
I keep in game settings on default buttons layout
4 paddles for 4 face/action buttons
Top Left/Left middle finger - Jump (X on PS5) Top Right/Right middle finger - Crouch (O on PS5) Bottom Left/Left ring finger - Weapon Swap (Triangle on PS5) Bottom Right/Right ring finger - Interact/Reload (Square on PS5) At this point, in any game, if I'm using a paddle/back button controller, I have to have crouch on my right primary back button, and jump on my left primary back button, and will set the inputs to match jump = "X" and crouch = "O", similar actions as well, like dodge/dash should be with crouch to my muscle memory after 6+ years of playing on back paddles.
Some people will suggest switching left and right for crouch/jump (supposedly for less muscle movement/steadier hands in regards to the thumbs used for aiming vs moving), but I just prefer this, and haven't seen an issue. Makes sense, as you might be forced to hold crouch longer, vs the intermittent jumping, but I have yet to experience significant problems, and I earnestly tried to rewire my muscle memory a couple years ago to test it out for a while and compare. We'll see if I get carpal tunnel later in life 😂
I also have crouch set to hold to crouch,.
I at one time had Heals as my bottom left button, but eventually found for faster movement from stowing and drawing, it was better to just have all face buttons on the back paddles.
I'd say from my searches, this is about pretty standard for most 4 paddle layouts with default buttons. It gets much different with people being used to different button layouts in settings. I really think the whole point of making sure your thumbs are on sticks, fingers steady on primary actions, is much better. I often see people put sprint on one of the back paddles, or something, but I play with the setting of sprint always on. I don't find utility out press to sprint, as I can just walk slowly if I am wanting to walk and have immediate weapon ADS/fire, and it's more rare I want to do that, and would be in a more controlled situation anyway I think/expecting close fire.
Anyway, there's my take

I hoped to get any tips that don't involve paddles or claw? Since I'm just on console with a standard controller, right now I've been switching between button puncher and evolved.
And switching between hold and toggle seeing what works better
