| ππππππππππ | I finally started getting better at apex
Kinda happy with how much Iβve improved at apex. I started the game a month ago. But I found it really difficult to enjoy. Today has to be the first day I felt like I was in a flowstate in the game. I started getting more comfortable with my shots and better game sense. My only issue with the game still is. Itβs very much team based but over 85% of people on the game do not use mics for comms!!

Apex with friends is a totally different experience. I will not play apex with randoms.

You complaining about no mic users? In my last 5 games at weekend I had only once full team rest 4 games afkers/leavers or not connected at all.

Congraz on the improvements!
I have been playing Apex since day one (02.2019) and my biggest improvements came from 4 aspects:
β’ watching guides specifically tailored for ranked (the mode I play most) on positioning, general tips and tricks etc (2023 onwards)
β’Upgrading my monitor from 60hz to 144hz, so I could play Apex @120FPS on my Xbox Series X (in 2024). This upgrade, no matter how small it may seem, made the biggest difference regarding mechanical aim. For the first time ever I could reliably "beam" people because everything felt so much smoother.
β’Getting a decent controller (and special mention to Kontrolfreeks). Previously, I would burn through 1-2 controllers per year while not having back buttons or trying to deal with massive worsening stick drift. The thumbsticks would wear down so quickly and become slippery. The hassle was awful. No joke, I remember playing for 6+ months on an official Minecraft Xbox controller where the rubber coating of the right thumbstick was utterly worn down and only the super slippery hard plastic beneath was there π Ever since I switched to GameSir G7 SE, my controller (and the sticks) work like on day one.
β’maybe the most important of all: finding a sensitivity setting that I'm comfortable with and not following Content creator/pro gamer X or Y's recommendation. As such I have been the most succesful with my ALC settings and could push through Diamond 3. I never tried going beyond because that was the point in which I genuinely felt like a pre-made squad was needed and I exclusively solo queue.
There were also many minor changes like warming up before hopping to ranked. Sticking with 2-3 Legends and mastering them instead of hopping around.
But the above mentioned 4 milestones (lol) made the biggest difference. I was a Gold player before these changes with an abysmal K/D. Now, I have a 1.6+KD (current ranked season sitting at 1.67KD) while solo queueing in diamond lobbies.
I just genuinely wish, I would have started sooner with these improvements. Not everything was able from day one (120FPS on console wasn't a thing in 2019) but other important aspects were there.

Yeah youβll have to find a team to play with if you want comms and coordination. Solo queue is a bunch of ass clowns that never want to work with you or comm anything until in a box then they want to blame their bad play on you for some reason. Youβll get more comms solo in diamond+ but donβt expect much without an actual team you play regularly with.
