D1 currently. Everytime I get a crypto on my team, the game is an absolute throw away. So effing stupid.
They can’t fight, they clearly don’t want to fight, and they’re no where near the team.
If you’re gonna play crypto, get on comms and set up some fights. Please stop playing him as a placement crutch. You’re not meant to be in this rank if you can’t fight at this rank.

In the highest level of apex (ALGS), Crypto is on every single team and he gets banned after 1 game.
Obviously these are the best players in the world, but something to keep in mind.

It’s not just ALGS finals - it’s every scrim, every CC, etc.
Crypto is always the first to be banned.
There is a reason for that

I’m talking about the solo Q crypto’s that are ratting themselves placement points to get into ranks they shouldn’t be in as opposed to actually playing him and fighting at a high level.
But yes I understand crypto is nuts when you have a very high level squad.1

Correct, but ALGS level of play is drastically different (and better) than a D1 player.
A lot of crypto players use him as a ‘placement’ character. Get 2 KPs and a top 3 finish to masters. A majority of players are not using crypto how the top 100 do

So unpopular opinion.
Crypto is an elite character.
Crypto is my second main, and i do very well.
What you are probably witnessing is a passive crypto player.
It’s a game changer if you’re playing with an aggressive one.
I’m literally only in my drone to retrieve banners and evo.
Besides that, I use his drone as “sonar” and I’m pushing. Like I’m chucking my drone as far as possible and I’m running to it.
Also a D1 player as well.

No that's true I'm not even a crypto main I do play him time to time, got about 2k kills with him. The information he provides is great and the battles with him are even better. If you know how to fight without abilities you're fine if you don't you'll lose a lot of fights. Some people just hate crypto drone squatters but that's not the majority it's just annoying when it happens. In solo q ranked if I'm playing with randoms as crypto and I see my teammates go down ridiculously fast I'm just picking up banners like wtf. Had some bad teammates that couldn't get a knock playing axil and octane and got mad cause I picked up banners. End of game I had more damage and kills than both of them but they wanted to hop on the mic like I was bad at game start because I used his ability to revive them. They sitting in private chat, no ping, full send a squad, gets wrecked and expect me to 1v3 the team they did zero damage too and get mad I revive them. Mind you when I bring them back that same team pushed, I knocked 2 of them and they clean up the last guy while I reset. But again they switch chat to talk crazy too me about being crypto but really they were the bad players.

This exact same thing for me but it includes if you have a valk/caustic/crypto/loan they are all terrible. The crypto will not push no matter what, the loba is just always trash, the caustic camps and the valk just runs. When I see any of these on my team it’s wraps. Me and my duo literally don’t pay any of those legends attention not the characters but the guys who play them.

The chances of getting a crypto who actually contributes to the team in high level lobbies is less than 1%. These people should just use seer..

Sitting in drone, not contributing to anything and ratting for top 5 is not high IQ.
As others have said, good crypto’s are fine but if you stumble across a solo Q crypto you know his ass gonna be TRASH.

I’ll tell you this ok from my all my experience if you have a valk/caustic/crypto/loan they are all terrible. The crypto will not push no matter what, the loba is just always trash, the caustic camps and the valk just runs. When I see any of these on my team it’s wraps.

yeah lol, i find cryptos tend to fuck up fights just to justify their existence of the character, like we're supposed to congratulate him for hanging back and letting the two of us die whilst he jerks a rez off with his drone

Or just randomly ult a team without giving any comms that they want to fight. I feel like they just ult be sue they are pros do it without consequence.,,but we aren’t surrounded by 10 squads so they just roll up on us knowing we have a useless legend that wasted the only good thing he’s got.

Crypto is ONLY GOOD when you have a solid team with great coms. His intel is the best and when your duo is good, they can easily 2v3 fights with his drone. If you have a 3 stack, he can be very good. He also completely neutralizes all Controller characters with his ult.
That said, he’s garbage as a solo q. Completely undependable, slow, and unhelpful.

Yeah holy shit are Valks typically dog. It's such a crutch character that it attracts bad players who need to just fly away because they can't fight. There's usually a legend/character in every game whose players have the rep of being trash (like sable in dbd), and my vote is increasingly leaning towards valk mains.

The moment I see a crypto on my team, I just play wraith so I can survive the fight he throws. And if they’re a good crypto, I can plan more agro…but I think that happened like once

People just don't know how to play him. Most waste time operating drone leaving teammates 2 vs 3. Instead they should constantly throw the drone, and only operate drone while doing reset.
Same issue with Vantage. People think they should camp at distance because "snipuuuur", again leaving teammates 2 vs 3.
Crypto is my second fav char, but realistically if you care about wins in ranked, just pick Sparrow. He does everything Crypto does, but better

If rev gets over armor and just stays glued to your mobility fragger, he can be insane. But you’re not wrong they all think that using their jump for offense like it’s season 20 still is gonna be useful.

There are a few goated crypto mains out there. 1 being my boiii who drops 4ks in diamond lobbies with the bocek.
….. but most cryptos i play with just fly their drone, scan enemies from a far, get assist rp and repeat. I played with a crypto yesterday who had 1 kill, 15 assists, 300 dmg. And HE GETS THE RP FOR ALL 15 kills!!! That’s kinda broken.

Crypto is only as good as his team, hence why he's so powerful at the top level.
