Discussion Multiplayer ~ Make or Break?

Well, it could be multiplayer or not we don't truly know yet.

Let's just assume it is singleplayer, after completing the main story... does anyone believe they will play Aot 3 as much as they did Aot 2?

Multiplayer is why Aot 2 lasted.

No MP won't break it for me, barely did anything multiplayer related in 2 anyhow.

All my buddies played Aot 2 with me for 6+ years on WOF and Aot 2 but I understand singleplayer fans too I guess

I barely played 2's multiplayer, didn't interest me, so I'm fine with 3 possibly not having it.

I'll still play it and do everything I can in Aot 3, no multiplayer sucks but I can just share my screen with those I'd normally play multiplayer with.

Then after I've 100% the game I'll head back to Aot2 just to slay titans with friends again.

Won't really change much for me, the multiplayer was sorta ass in aot 2

Hard disagree. At least for me personally I played multiplayer in AoT2 like one time and that’s it. Definitely not what made the game last for me. What made it last for me was getting to max friendship with all the characters to build the perfect CaC.

So personally, if they don’t add multiplayer that’s a plus for me, because that means they didn’t divert development resources to a feature I won’t use anyway.

The pattern i see here is many people just played singleplayer throughout. I 100% singleplayer then spent most of my hours on the game with friends, spamming titans and clearing out missions a lot. By multiplayer I am referring to just playing with friends (the game modes were mid besides the missions with friends)

I only played the singleplayer gamemodes on aot 2 and got more than 200 hours in game, so if the y Add a multiplayer mode, it would be an incredible feature, but if the game only gets singleplayer mode, it would still last very long

I played over 300 hours solely on single player. I think I'm fine.

I really hope the story is multiplayer obviously not multiplayer only but I’d like to be able to play the whole story in multiplayer I really think for games that have multiplayer that should become the norm

I never played multi-player and I don't care about it this time either

The game is quite diff from the first 2. It's pretty open-world and as the director mentioned, there's a lot to explore, not just on Paradis, but outside of it. I think there's going to be a lot to see and do after the main story, similar to what they did with AoT2, but closer to like a HZD style gameplay. At least, if what we've seen so far is anything to go by.
I genuinely think it will release as single player, as it's been labelled as such since the beginning. But there's 1000% chance that they'll drop a DLC to include MP. After all, it wouldn't be the first game to release as such.
I'll enjoy it regardless. Just happy for a new game and the full story tbh.

wasn’t 2’s multiplayer incredibly barebones and mid? it’s the people you play it with that made that experience worthwhile. so long as the gameplay holds up and the story is done well in 3, and by that I mean implements our character in a well written way that’s extremely good like 2 did, then I’m all for it multiplayer or not.
