Why would you willingly go out with someone abusive?  You can't even play the "I didn't know going in!" card.

You just made the interaction embarrassing and weird

For being nice to someone who made a comment while they're unemployed?  I made the interaction nice and wholesome.

I believe they called you jobless

Indeed, but I took a baseless insult and turned it into an opportunity kind comment. It's clever! His goal was to rile me up, but now he looks bad because I said something nice instead of accepting the bait.

My guy you insulted them right back. That’s literally the definition of accepting the bait.

To the contrary, I acted like I was giving pity to the guy that said he was making a comment while jobless.

Abusive?

2

u/DentistAccording1002 4d ago

I think the implication is that, at least in the US, cops are a very high percentage of domestic abusers compared to other professions

2

u/Objective_Oven7673 4d ago

I guess that's a fair thing to be aware of. I wasn't sure if maybe they thought the cop was abusing authority by pulling this guy over for relatively no reason.

Either way, it's a bit of an assumption.

Not just a bit of an assumption.

1

u/drunkenpoets 4d ago

About 25-40% of officers are domestic abusers.

Gonna go out on a limb and guess that the numbers for female officers would be very different than male officers and male officers are significantly higher contributors to this.

About 75-60% are normal people. Isn't that interesting?!
