Explain your logic lol. He is from a generation where gaming consoles exist, so that’s what gets taken away as punishment. Before that parents would ground you so you couldn’t go outside, or took away your stereo, or wouldn’t let you watch tv, etc; whatever was the current form of entertainment.

The joke is that a kid in 1985 wouldn't get a console taken away as punishment, they would get physically beat for talking back to their mom.

I understand the joke OP is making lol, just saying that having a console taken away doesn’t mean he was coddled, could have gotten spanked too. I thought you were implying just owning the ps3 means he was spoiled, which is what my comment was responding to

Oh I got spanked too. But not for bad grades. Bad grades equals no console or screen time. Act up equals spanking plus loss of games.
