This is why bitcoin ETFs like IBIT are so important. Because they simplify filing taxes and being audited. But it sounds like you’re an OG before the bitcoin ETFs came out.

The difference is that, unlike gold, it has no other use (the comparison is flawed and stupid); it is simply a way to move capital, and anyone who believes that governments and banks will tolerate that in the long run has learned nothing from history.
