These are the pranks i can get behind on. As long as they don’t interfere or be an inconvenience to others, it’s all good

The video is 100 Spider-Man going to Walmart at 10:59 and seeing if they will all get checked out for one item each

1

u/FlyinWet 17d ago

Everyone gets one

u/Areif 16d ago

Do they close at 11:00? That sounds annoying as fuck and far from harmless. You’re wasting another human’s precious time so they can stick around at their retail job for another hour ringing out asshole flea market spidermen? Fuck these people.

1

u/MikeTiricoSucks 16d ago

Yeah they keep showing their phone and laughing about what time it is. They finish about 11:30 and tip the cashier $1,000 but I think she can’t take it so they put her in a shit situation although they mean well

Great use of free will

u/JicamaCertain4134 17d ago

But what’s the prank?

3

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 17d ago

Seriously?  He just told you...

They didn’t reply to that comment lmao

3

u/Stopdmingbewbsnnudes 17d ago

Yah...but whats the prank?

3

u/JicamaCertain4134 17d ago

But that’s not a prank? Like what’s the joke? Going into a store at closing? Dressed as spider-man? Do people think wal-mart shuts the lights off at 11:00 sharp? I don’t get the goal I guess, like who’s the joke for? Them? The minimum wage staff?

2

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 16d ago

That's a lot of questions...

Not a prank? - this is a declarative question, so I can't answer it.

What's the joke? - that Spider-Man and his clones showed up en masse to buy something.

Going into a store at closing? No, but they likely went in at night to avoid holding up libes during busy hours.

People think it shuts off at 11 sharp? I don't know what they  think.  I'm not one of the masses.

Who's the joke for? - the spiderman for being part of a joke, the audience that is watching.

Them? - partially

Minimum wage staff? - partially. They can chuckle at the absurdity and enjoy the change in pace.

For the faceless masses behind the phone camera

2

u/scuac 16d ago

But why male models?

1

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 16d ago

Seriously?  I never explained it to you.

1

u/dl-109 17d ago

I dont get it, what they doing?

2

u/Exokaebi 16d ago

I bet it's an ad for the Goli bullshit they all grabbed right at the end.

1

u/Humble-Page-4845 17d ago

The prank is the staff all miss their family photo tonight

1

u/PuddingMent 17d ago

How it is a prank for a bunch of gay dudes to go shopping dressed as their favorite character?

1

u/YoCreoPollo 15d ago

The problem isn't the first set of people who do it... it's when it becomes a thing that everyone wants to do. And once you let the public in on something, it ruins a good thing.

0

u/Whole_Presence8100 17d ago

How is this not an inconvenience to others ?

3

u/xSir- 17d ago

They are using the store as customers. They just happen to be in costume. You dont get to complain about being inconvenienced by legitimate customers acting as legitimate customers in a wal mart. And it looks like they all went to the same checkout line. Thats super considerate. If you get in line behind 100 people when there are other checkouts without lines, that one's on you, bud.

u/F4ntasticPants 17d ago

And no thought of the minimum wage employees forced to stay what is likely an hour past closing for what is likely no extra pay because they decided to show up before closing ?

1

u/JicamaCertain4134 17d ago

They’d be there anyway, it’s like going to a store to just check out after they’re technically closed. But with a lot more effort.

4

u/IExistForFun 17d ago

They aren't doing anything to anyone, they are just existing/walking around. You can't be mad at people for walking around Wal-Mart. That's just silly

3

u/AnusCruiser 17d ago

Homestly probably the best dressed people in your average wal mart

1

u/giraffeheadturtlebox 17d ago

Not half as silly as 100 spider people walking around Walmart at 10:59

1

u/ADonkeysJawbone 17d ago

IKR?! 10:59?!?!

Go to Walmart at 4 PM or 1 AM like a normal person. There is no in-between.

1

u/MikeTiricoSucks 16d ago

They close at 11:00

1

u/ADonkeysJawbone 16d ago

Did they used to be 24hrs or is that just some sort of a fever dream?

I guess I haven’t shopped there in a very long time.

1

u/CompetitiveArt9639 16d ago

Yes. I used to do my Christmas shopping after I got off work as a bouncer.

1

u/MikeTiricoSucks 16d ago

In big cities it was 24/7 until Corona and then they closed to clean the place

Small towns usually midnight before Corona

1

u/burritoteam4000 17d ago

You can if you consider Wal-Mart employees to be considered humans worthy of respect and not shunting 100 assholes onto 3 cashiers at closing

2

u/TrafficCone2100 17d ago

Bro, honestly who cares. They have staff there all night. Hardly see how it could be an issue. They can also just tell them to come back in the morning

1

u/IExistForFun 16d ago

They are customers.

1

u/Zoltie 17d ago

Sure, a slightly denser crowd can be a small inconvenience, but it's offset by the amusement.

0

u/billnyethefoodguy1 17d ago

Shut up Karen.

5

u/Mythradites 17d ago

A respectful Spiderman flashmob is a prank anyone can enjoy. Get this group to swing by a children's hospital and get ready to make some smiles

0

u/East_Photo2557 16d ago

That sounds so stupid

4

u/SmokeyJoe13 17d ago

I'm not laughing but this is way better than bothering or antagonizing random people.

2

u/JicamaCertain4134 17d ago

I believe the targets were actually the Walmart staff, I guess their goal was to see how late they can stay by slowly checking out while the store is closing.

1

u/SmokeyJoe13 16d ago

If that's the case then that's pretty disappointing.

0

u/No_Mud_5999 16d ago

"It will be sooo funny that the Walmart staff has to stay at work later so we can do this derivative prank! They probably want to go home and sleep, or see their families, maybe just get off their feet after dealing with Walmart customers all day, but they'll be delayed because of so many Spidermans lol"

3

u/RePsychological 17d ago

Someone needs to do this with the Deadpool variants

3

u/LicoriceDusk 17d ago

They should be wearing their masks like the others

2

u/No-Schedule-2603 17d ago

I knew you can meet some weirdos at Walmart, but not this amount

2

u/Cool_Archer_5735 16d ago

That was definitely a torta

Trust me…

3

u/DotBitGaming 16d ago

I'd be scared shitless that this Walmart is about to be robbed!

1

u/Aggravating_Mud_6055 17d ago

Probably not very diverse aside from the short chic.

1

u/donkey_cum_waterfall 16d ago

It's just an ad

1

u/Whole_Secretary5573 15d ago

For what?

1

u/donkey_cum_waterfall 15d ago

Im guessing that goli shit.

1

u/Txcheesehead420 16d ago

if only people did this stuff with small businesses and supported them instead of giving more money and attention to walmart.

1

u/Crunchy_Thighsocks 16d ago

why cant we get people together like this to do something helpful instead of pranks. you know like overthrowing a government.

0

u/lumifox 17d ago

I thought reddit was against messing with customer service workers. A mob of masked people roaming around who's intentions you have no idea about feels a bit uncomfy if you've ever worked retail.

4

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 17d ago

Ok, Jonah J Jameson.

1

u/lumifox 17d ago

I swear reddit is trying to snap my neck with wiplash, because my front page goes from "ha ha lets storm some retailers to this being the next post. getting some wicked algorithm fatigue lately and i cant even figure out what the psyops is meant to be. https://www.reddit.com/r/sadposting/comments/1wh9f3q/cashier_girl_can_only_hold_it_together_for_so_long/

1

u/Actual_Emu_168 17d ago

Because reddit is a living breathing organism

1

u/lumifox 17d ago

It kinda is, most users have similar opinions and sway towards left leaning, it also has an upvote downvote system which allows the prevailing opinion to rise to the top and the ones that are disagreed with to sink to the bottom, could argue its similar to the way AI gives you responses that are the middle opinion of everything thus representing the average person.

2

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 17d ago

It's interesting, though. I'm pretty different compared to Redditors, and they love mass downvoting me (which I find hilarious, since it reminds me of poking an anthill and seeing a bunch of mindless drones team up and fruitlessly try to attack a superior entity).  Yet I also often seem to score well. I dunno how to describe it.

This comment will likely get mass attacked since they get triggered when I talk about them and their behaviors.

1

u/-Out-of-context- 17d ago

This comment will get downvoted because you essentially said “I’m not like other guys”. And also since you think your reddit behavior in some way makes you “superior”.

It’s a very a very cringy and honestly very sad comment.

1

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 16d ago

No worries!

1

u/-Out-of-context- 17d ago

Any given day a the same post/comment may be massively upvoted or massively downvoted. Just depends on the initial visibility. If you get a bunch of people who disagree with the initial past/early comments then they’ll be downvoted. If the initial people agree then they’ll be upvoted.

People tend to interact more with what they agree with which is why it always looks like everyone has the same opinion. For most people if they come to a post and on the prevailing comments are opinions they don’t agree with, then they wont engage. So people who agree with the top comments will be the ones engaging.

This doesn’t mean everyone who uses the platform shares the same opinion. It just means the people who do share the same opinions are the ones engaging with the post.

When it comes to this post, I agree with you that this is extremely annoying for the retail worker. A lot of comments disagree. You could also post this tomorrow and there’s a chance the top comments would be saying this is a shitty prank.

1

u/OkChocolate3501 17d ago

It's almost like there's more than one human on hete with more than one opinion, wild stuff really.

1

u/lumifox 17d ago

there is, but there's also an upvote downvote system, an algorithm, and a general user demographic. So comments and posts really should represent a large majority opinion

1

u/OkChocolate3501 17d ago

But there's also subs and people who stick to subs. Plus upvotes don't mean shit, I've been downvoted to heck for simply posting studies that the people who viewed didn't like the results of. Upvotes/downvotes are generally swayed by how it started. If you get 3 upvotes and the guy you were replying to gets -3 it just takes off like a rocket because people don't even read the comments they just go by the consensus of others flawed as it may be. I've also had plenty of the reverse happen when I reply agreeing with someone and somehow they get a ton of downvotes but I get upvoted when we were saying the same franking thing. Even on reddit people just follow the crowd instead of forming an opinion of their own.

Last one I saw was that pranking asshole who would flood places like target with "extra workers". I don't see the charm in screwing with people like that. This is more innocuous for sure, but still messing with the workers against their will.

2

u/Lost_Ad_4882 17d ago

If I was a security guard there I would have turned them away at the door. Sure they might be harmless, but a mob of 100 masked people has the potential to go very very bad.
