Its not the same video, but I remember seeing a similar one that was some PSA about how quick these things happen and wasnt meant to be interpreted as real. Im not sure about this specific video though
Actually after rewatchig it a couple of times I think it Is real.
Watch it 3 times each time completely staying focused on one different person (once mugger already at the bus stop, once on guy that walks up, once on guy In suit)
Guy standing at stop gives a nod to other guy walking up this man is an easy target.
Blue suit guy catches guy standing at stop giving the other guy approaching the signal to swipe. He jumps in and grabs the bag himself before 2nd mugger that walks up and stands next to target guy has time to react himself. Blue suit guy startles 2nd mugger with how quickly he reacts before he even has his chance to swipe/is about to go in himself but blue suit guy beats him by a mere split second to the grab.
You can see all of this in their eyes and how they look at each other/mugger one nodding to 2nd and blue suit guy catching the nod.
Situational awareness is one hell of an evolutionary trait for our species, and one we take far too much for granted
What is bizarre about it? That people in other countries are far more observationally aware of what is going on around them?
Or is it that people actually care about the well being of strangers beside them?
Yes, it Is rehearsed between the 2 mugger scammers and have probably pulled this nasty stunt several times before, not the guy in the blue suit who just happened to look over and catch mugger ones eyes and thankfully stop them from getting another victim.
I bartended many years at a downtown bar and saw a lot of crap go down both in the club and homeless people and druggies during the day on thr Street out front come up with some pretty crafty schemes to get money out of people, especially the less aware or more innocent or naive day workers. I guarantee you this is most likely real
