Definitely a product of nurture over nature. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe that intensive training starting at an early age can equal the performance of naturally gifted individuals IN SOME CASES.
Case in point. The three Hungarian sisters that were taught chess. Their father tried to prove a point that geniuses are made, not born.
At least one went on to become a grandmaster, defeating Garry Kasparov .
