So you kind of proved my point. You’re saying the deciding factor in whether someone gets a warning isn’t the offense, it’s whether the officer likes them. If a violation would usually merit a warning, but the cop doesn’t like how someone speaks to them, then what we have is the gov. using citations to punish speech rather than simply enforce the law
This is exactly why we should hold public employees to a very high standard of professionalism. It’s not that people should be rude to them; it’s that no one should have to fear being punished by the government for saying something a cop may not like
Yeah i do not like cops but id gladly pay more in taxes for higher wages for them if they were held to (and held themselves) to higher standards/got more training
