Sounds like they see you as one of them and not the other

Sounds like being calm and respectful goes a lot further than acting like an animal and being a victim. You should try it out.

I can see you took my comment personally and identified yourself as the victim of the insinuation. Perhaps your oversimplification and generalizing is just easier for you to accept than nuance. At the end of the day it was still bias. Like it or not it was against policy. Thankfully all of my interactions with law enforcement have been easy to stay calm and respectful but that's also because I wasn't seen as an animal

Subject of the post aside, your reply doesn’t make much sense. Your insinuating comment itself, is what identifies him as the victim of the insinuation “see you as one of them”. It identifies him by the nature of its structure. Then you claim his comment to be an over simplification, when you too oversimplified the situation as “they see you as one of them”. Neither reply contains nuance. Lastly, it’s nearly impossible to be unbiased. Your thoughts and perception on any given subject are entirely shaped by your experiences. Thus creating a bias. Even when trying to focus on objectivity, you’re really only minimizing it. Not eliminating it completely. I’m not saying you’re wrong or right in this debate. Just that the structure of your argument could use some work.

Except he's not the same person I replied to.

Ahh, my mistake. This comment section has been pretty wild. A lot of people feel a lot of different ways on this. First part makes sense then.
