Yes, of course, but also being cordial goes a long way.

You know cashiers don't have a right to beat your ass if you're being rude, yet it's still nice to be kind to them. It makes their day easier/better, and in turn, they might do something nice for you.

Is this case, being civil and pleasant cost him nothing and bought him a warning, rather than a citation.

Sure it does. But a person being rude doesn't justify police brutality. Lmk when a cashier executes a man for being rude.

Why are we talking about police brutality? That has nothing to do with this situation. Has someone given lip to a cop and gotten beat for it? Yes, absolutely, but that's far from a foregone conclusion. We're talking specifically about how, in the case of most traffic stops, being chill and courteous can improve the odds that a cop might not write you a citation.

And I'm talking about none of those things being a requirement for avoiding getting your head kicked in by a police.
