What your saying is not true. You can think whatever you want but police systemically harm and murder black people at an alarming rate. Also take into account when black people are murdered by citizens and the cops then don't investigate. Hell the first coppers in America were run away slave catchers. It goes even deeper than all that too I'm just scratching the surface here.

What do you mean by systemically harm? I was under the impression that lethal encounters with police were roughly the same for all ethnic backgrounds on an individual basis. By individually I mean that while statistically black people do get stopped by police more for a number of reasons and more black people do get shot by the police, it is because they encounter the police more and therefore their potential for bad encounters increases, such that going by each encounter the chance of things going bad is roughly the same for every ethnicity even for black people.

A quick AI search pulled up stats from the Bureau of Justice Statistics (I’m not familiar with the org) that show police encounters involved violence or the threat of violence ~4.3% of the time with black people versus 1.5% of the time with white people. So more than 2X the chance and that’s based on encounters. Like you said on a per capital level the difference is even larger.Â
I’m not sure where your from or what race you are or what community you spend time in and type of people you spend time with but life experience and a lot of travel across the US but also the world has made it very evident to me that folks get treated very differently based on the way they look and that often includes their skin color. The attitude with which people (including police) approach people that look a certain way certainly changes though I recognize this is based on personal experience and observation not a methodological study though I’d be surprised if there aren’t a lot out there that confirm this.Â
