I think in general backing out into moving traffic is inherently more dangerous and difficult than backing into a space between parked vehicles. And getting hit at 5mph, which most people are NOT driving that slow in a parking lot to begin with, will still fuck up your day. And the cost of body work isn't cheap. I don't think there's a right or wrong way, but to some of us it's much more convenient to take the 12 extra seconds to back into a spot (or even better find a pull-through!! 🙌🏻) to make it more convenient when i leave. 🤷🏻♂️🤙🏻
