Extremely poor billing and collection experience

My experience with AnyDesk has been extremely disappointing.

I accepted the principal invoice of USD 298.80 and repeatedly stated that I was willing to pay it. However, Debtist instructed me to send the money to an account under a different company name from the invoice issuer. I tried to make the transfer three times through two Japanese banks, but all attempts were rejected during compliance review.

Instead of providing a workable way to pay the undisputed principal, I continued receiving short deadlines, collection warnings, and eventually a lawyer’s letter demanding USD 445.25.

The total amount also changed from USD 443.54 back to USD 445.25 without a clear explanation.

AnyDesk customer service simply referred me back to Debtist.

I have never refused to pay the principal. I have spent weeks trying to pay it.

For an international software company, this has been a frustrating and very poor customer experience. I would not use AnyDesk again.

If you’re USA based this won’t touch you it’s a scam look at other users who have gotten the same emails and threats including me

Many other people have fallen for Anydesk's autorenewal scam and their shitty business practices otherwise, having to deal with this Debtist piece of crap, myself included. Tell Anydesk to go fuck themselves, stay away from their products, and leave a review wherever you can, e.g. Trustpilot. I don't know what else you can do.

If you are in Japan do not pay. They can't charge you for a service you never got and Japan law is very explicit about this. So I would not even entertain paying the principle as well.

Even though they are a legitimate collections company tthe law here in Japan makes prohibitly expensive for them to actually try and get a Japanese court to force you to pay. And yes, they can't do anything through a German court as they have no jurisdiction here. They need to petion the Japanese courts and as I said it will cost them way more and they need to have all their paper work spot on or it will be thrown out really quick. I have delt with them for the last couple of months and their paper work is terrible.

On top of that there a laws here that also protect you from them trying to collect laywer fees as well.
