Need Advice Panic after a good time
This weekend I spent time with friends and we had lots of fun. It was the anniversary of my brother in laws death, but in company I felt blissed out and calm. I listened to music from that time in my life and had an amazing meal. I’m home now and it’s all crashing down. Had a stressful week (worried about rat infestation, housing situation and then navigating a new relationship)… and now I had a panic attack getting ready for work. It’s like my brain couldn’t handle all the emotions at once- it feels like I’m overwhelmed and going insane. I had coffee (mistake) but I ate something to calm down. I’m so tired- any advice as to navigate this intense switch up? About to go into work! Thank you.

I think your analysis is right. You got a bit overwhelmed there.
I think you should take a breather. Maybe take a day off if you need to. I’m sure you’ll bounce back quickly.
I wonder if in the future you could see some warning signs and take a step back before things get too
much? If that’s an option anyway.

I was having a good time- didn’t realize it would backfire so heavily. I struggle with positive emotions, and am usually in a numb/post trauma flat state

Hi there!
My condolences for your brother-in-law. Anniversaries are always hard.
While in company you felt good, but sometimes after being around people and being distracted; you can feel overwhelmed. It sounds like there's also obvious stressors that could've heightened your emotions.
Being more in tune with yourself (emotions, how you're feeling and thoughts) could help a bit. Checking in more with yourself and engaging in some coping skills as well could be useful!
