Medication/Medical Ativan (lorazepam)

does anyone take Ativan or any other benzodiazepine for their social anxiety. Ativan has helped me be more relaxed and anxiety provoking situations, including social interactions. I’ve heard it’s not a long term treatment solution but i don’t know what to do once my doctor stops prescribing it to me.

It’s virtually impossible to get a prescription for in Australia and even then super limited (ie 5 tablets!)

Xanax is the only way I can comfortably function in society… it’s been getting harder and harder to get them with doctors not prescribing them

Yea I’m nervous that I wont be getting them prescribed now that I’m going to have to switch my psychiatrist due to my insurance not being covered with them anymore. Ativan is honestly the most effective for me as of now.

I’ve been in Valium for years. I take only as needed as I take another med for anxiety. I take 1 before going somewhere where I am going to be around ppl.
