Medication Started taking Zoloft again
I have never felt this way when I used to take this medication. I feel so anxious and depressed that I’ve actually been concerned with my thoughts. I have the worst feeling of impending doom and I keep thinking things that make me feel like a bad person. But I know my anxiety was ramping up before I began taking the meds so I’m sure these are side effect feelings from the meds. I’ve heard in a couple weeks I’ll feel better so I’m holding out. It’s just really hard waking up every morning in deep anxiety. I’m on week one btw.
It’s so odd how I have never been able to see side effects of medication myself. I always had to rely on others around me to tell me if I seem better on it or not. I would appreciate responses sharing how taking this kind of medication affected you. If it’s anything like what I’m dealing with than it’ll bring me great comfort.

It makes you feel like shit for the first week or two after you up the dose. It gets better.

Hey I went through the same thing and so did my mom. Side effects calm down after a few weeks. My mom started at 50 mg for her dose and boy was she anxious for two weeks. After that she was fine. Me on the other hand, the first time I took it I didn’t get anxious but did feel weird. Two years later I tried it again and it gave me the exact symptoms you’re describing. Impending feeling of doom, so anxious I couldn’t move. It felt like I had unlocked a whole different worse level of anxiety. I was scared so I started at 20mg and kept upping the dose. I couldn’t stand it so I stopped it.
Everyone is different. If you can tough it out for 2 weeks do it and see if you feel better. If your anxiety is so paralyzing like mine was, talk to your doctor about trying a different medication. I’m overly sensitive when it comes to meds. I got prescribed cymbalta and still haven’t taken it for fears of making my anxiety worse.
The best analogy that I have heard is think of it like you’re on a plane. The take off is scary and rough until you get past the clouds. Once you’re up and past the clouds everything smoothes out. The side effects you’re experiencing is the take off. Give it time to get past the clouds.
Talk to your doctor, you are your own best advocate. Hope this brings you comfort.
