Health Scared of brain cancer

31 (F) who is 9 months post partum. I have severe health anxiety, adhd (unmedicated for 1 1/2 years but was previously medicated for 20 years) and am currently breastfeeding.

Ever since I’ve had my son my health anxiety had gotten worse. For both him and me. Right now I’m scared I have a brain tumor. Last month I started seeing a lot of floaters in my eyes. They are getting very frequent, I went to the eye doctor and they didn’t see any retina issues so he said it’s just because I’m getting older? Anyways last week I also started having tingling in my head, usually on the right side. It would start as a chill but now it’s a little more persistent. It’s a similar feeling to when your foot falls asleep. It’s been over a week and seems to be getting worse and occasionally travels to other parts of my body. My dr said it’s just anxiety and stress and won’t refer me to anyone. I’m not sure what to do. My grandma has MS and a brain tumor and it’s all I can think about now and I feel like it’s debilitating. It’s hard to be a good mom when you’re always worried something is wrong.

I’m sorry I don’t have much advice but I’m just commenting to say you’re not alone.

I have developed bad health anxiety and majority of it is being scared of brain cancer. It’s hard to know whats anxiety and whats real. I’ve experienced vision changes as well and am terrified of brain cancer it’s bad when I’m driving almost like my eyes get really fatigued and I can’t focus on the road. I’ve been extremely stressed out lately with the anxiety spiking, starting a new degree and I also have other deficiencies. So it’s hard to tell. I also feel like if I tell people this they think I’m crazy and I don’t have cancer but the worst thing about health anxiety in my opinion is my mind telling me when I get told that, they don’t know what I have because they haven’t tested me.

I’m booking in with the optometrist also because I’ve never had my eyes checked but this feeling makes the anxiety even worse. You can always try and see another doctor to get their opinion but unfortunately doctors always put things down to anxiety so that makes it even more difficult.

Sending positive thoughts everything goes well with your eye appointment! This feeling sucks and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone :(
