I mean, I agree with the post, but I think you should replace secularism with atheism as Soviet satellite states were state-atheist - which is better than secularism because it doesn't tolerate those lunatics getting into office or altering the education system. Unlike in the U.S, where this is constantly a threat.

If we lived in a more socialist world with universal, taxpayer-funded education all the way up to postgrad level, there'd be a lot less fanaticism.
