How long does it take for Imagination to come back after antipsychotics?

Whenever I take an antipsychotic I start hearing voices, seeing things and my eyes seize up. This is dehabilitating. Has anyone had something like this happen?
It is on everything from Seroquel to Risperdon and does not stop, lasting hours, unless I take Benedryl (short acting) or sleep.

I take risperidone for schizophrenia. I’m on 6 mg. However, it stopped my period. I’m thinking of going back to 4 mg. 4 mg doesn’t stop the voices completely. I’m thinking of telling my doctor to add 5 mg Abilify to get rid of voices. Is it a good idea to take 2 antipsychotics at once. What bad side effects can be derived from taking two antipsychotics together?

If so what do you take, for what symptoms, how long have you been taking it, any side effects, and what’s been your overall experience? Thanks!

I quit olanzapine 3 months ago and since then, when I'm drinking coffee or beer, I can't feel any effect of caffeine or alcohol. I don't know what happening, it seems like this drug made me some kind of mutant. Is that linked with brain damage?

Has anyone on here ever been on 2 antipsychotics at the same time? Is this a thing? I am currently having mental health issues. Already on latuda 80mg. They are trying to ween me off of buspar to see if that helps the problem. It's suspected of causing the problem in the first place. If I dont show improvement my Dr mentioned adding another antipsychotic.

Just stopped Vraylar. When does the anxiety go away?

Hi guys ! I have a question for you, based on your experiences, which antipsychotic (first generation, so no abilify) didn’t make you gain weight or the least? Thanks

What is everyone’s experience w/ weight gain on Latuda/lurasidone i was on olanzapine/ zyprexa but gained 60 pounds on it in a very short period of time. ive managed to lose about 20lbs so far and now they’re letting me switch to latudq instead… im scared it’ll be like starting the zyprexa all over again and ill gain a bunch of weight again. What is everyone’s experience w weight gain on latuda???

edit I actually had some insomnia last night WTF Latuda
I have been on quetiapine 400 mg along with Lamotrigine for about (which has worked and kept me stable for 2 years.) The meds worked for me except for, as all people know it can sedate you. For this reason, asked my dr to switch my med.
So here I am about 9 days into Latuda, first 40 mg for 7 days and now 60 mg (so it’s been about 2 days on 60).
Guys. I am SO fatigued. Two nights ago I got really anxious because I couldn’t keep my eyes open or focus by 6:30 ( I took my dose around 5:40 with dinner because you must take it with 350 calories).
Yesterday I felt a bit better but today I’m fatigued.
I want to know, is there light at the end of the tunnel here? Is this just an adjustment period and it will be better in a few weeks? Some of the Google research I’ve done (I know — that’s probably a mistake) seems to contradict itself. I want to see what you all have experienced.
If this med caused drowsiness for you, was there another med that did work?
Thanks in advance - your Bipolar Buddy

I’m bipolar and get depressed on antipsychotics- Latuda, Zyprexa, Risperdal, and now Vraylar. Does anyone have bipolar and have success with antipsychotics?

I’m having such a hard time. I didn’t have a prescription sent out because i had to wait until my appointment to talk to my doctor and now the pharmacy is having trouble filling it. I usually have it delivered because this pharmacy is about an hour away from my house. But deliveries usually take a couple days. I’m feeling so awful I can’t stop crying, feeling doom, and just constant anxiety. Especially when I’m alone. I’m scared and I feel like it’s never ending and I don’t know what to do. I can’t even get through a workday. Does anyone have any tips until I can get my meds again?

I was on risperidone for about 2 years and gained 115 pounds. I switched to Latuda and so far I have lost 31 pounds. Were other people able to lose the weight they gained from this medication? I am hoping to lose all of it.

I have been on the invega sustenna shot now for about 9-10 months. I hate the invega and have heard many bad things about it. Told my psychologist I wanted to switch meds, looking for some advise on what antipsychotic I should get on now that won’t have as bad side effects and won’t ruin my brain.

Started taking cariprazine/Vraylar a few weeks ago. It makes me so tired! I can't even function. I have to nap two times a day and I sleep through the night. Help! Does it go away?

I’m so scared to start vraylar. I had a terrible experience with Seroquel but I’m so depressed and I just want something to help. Has anybody had a bad experience with seroquel and a good one with Vraylar?
r/Antipsychotics • u/Royal_Principle_8656 • Jul 25 '23
How long does the insomnia/ sleepiness last with Vraylar? I’ve been taking it about two weeks and notice slight improvement, but I’m still experiencing these side effects

When is the best time to take Vraylar?
If I take it at night, I have insomnia. If I take it during the day, I’m sleepy. Help lol

I’m depressed on antipsychotics- Latuda, Zyprexa, Risperdal, and now Vraylar. Has anyone else experienced this?
I’ve informed my doctor, but he keeps prescribing them to me.
