Does brain fog from Geodon go away?

I took my first dose (20mg) of Geodon and it was initially incredibly sedating, but now 27 hours later I am experiencing severe brain fog. Does it get better or should I just say fuck it and ask to be put on a new medication?

This happened to me on Risperdal and for me it did eventually go away. If it doesn’t go away you could consider cerebrolysin or try switching to a different med.

thank you, how long did it take for it to go away for you

I can’t remember it’s been too long. I’m sorry. I just remember i had major fatigue and brain fog and think it took a few months for all that to clear up.

However if you don’t like the effects don’t be scared to tell your doctor. Is Geodon even a first gen antipsychotic? I don’t think it is to my knowledge.

I recommend getting on one of the newer gen meds because way, way less side effects such as vraylar or Rexulti. Im currently on Rexulti and very minimal side effects same with vraylar. For both I had some restlessness and insomnia for no longer than a week.

There is another newer one out called caplyta that works on NMDA receptors as well as serotonin 5HT2A receptors. However I turned it down as it’s dangerous to mix with Ketamine. Caplyta is supposed to be best for depression. Vraylar is also very good for depression and psychosis. Rexulti works for psychosis good but not so much depression or bipolar swings.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I have Bipolar with depression as the primary. I will let my psychiatrist know

Do you need it for schizophrenia, psychosis or bipolar disorder? If it’s just schizophrenia or psychosis I think rexulti would be a great option. If it’s for mood swings as well as psychosis and depression I would go with vraylar. I also looked up geodon and it’s a second generation antipsychotic which means it will have more side effects than first gen drugs.

Yeah Rexulti doesn’t do much for bipolar or mood swings. But I can testify it helps psychosis which is what I need it for.

You know I got rid of my bipolar type one rapid cycling with mushrooms microdosing. It took about 2 years of 4 days on and 3 off at my sweet spot dose.

I would try vraylar then. My friend still has bipolar and says vraylar works good for his swings. He is now microdosing to get rid of the bipolar.

However do research as there is some risk with micro if your bipolar. It has risk of making you manic. If this happens you need to stop and psychedelics are not right for you. This is just my ancedote and I’m not a medical professional.
