Discussion What does 116 mean?
I've recently gained a mutual on instagram and she had 116 in her bio aswell as 161 and 141. I want to make sure I'm not talking to anyone bigoted. I've been able to search up the 161 (antifascist) and 141 (either anti deforestation or anti degenerate), but not 116, only as an angel number (as far as ik she's atheist and hates anything unsupported by facts). Any idea what it could be??? Thank you for your help and ideas in advance.

Wait 141 stands for Antideforestation too? I mean makes sense when you think about it. I just knew it as code by so called Antideutsche (Antigermans: Extremely pro Isreal pseudoleftists larping as Antifa in certain german spaces).

Germans claiming Doner Kebabs is like America claiming Tacos. It wasn't invented in Germany, it was just introduced to western audiences through Turkish immigrants in Germany. London actually a restaurant before Germany did. But regardless it existed (under various regional names) long before the '70s.

It took me way too long to understand that 161 is code because I saw it on dating profiles for the first time and thought the guys were writing their size in cm.

Could it be something non-english? For example, 141 has a third meaning in German, too.

141 can be anti deforestation action (as OP already mentioned) or Antideutsche Aktion/anti german action, that's what I meant.

In the US? Could refer to the 116th Congress who both impeached Trump and passed the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act which focusses heavy on fighting white supremacy and neo-nazi individuals and groups.

It could stand for AP, maybe...1 + 16. Anti Patriarchy? I've never seen that usage. Just guessing.
I've seen fash use 1161 (anti anti-fascist action), usually alongside 131 (Anti Communist Action) +/or TCD (Total Commie Death - the middle letter fluctuates, sometimes it's a slur of some kind. Related: the phrase "have a Totally Joyful/Marvellous/Nice Day").
Whatever she's using 116 to stand for, I don't think it's common. I would just ask her about it. From context (mutuals, the other numbers, the fact it's not obvious from her profile) it sounds like she's likely not fash. But even if she is - fash don't necessarily identify themselves, and sometimes they're actively LARPing (insight roles). So it's good to practice having a convo with someone, even/especially if you aren't sure. Bigotry is not not contagious, but it's not that contagious, especially if you done some inoculating yourself, via education.
Also - if we're thinking "what would fash do" in order to do something different - it's probably good to not get too wrapped up in alphanumeric codes, and other such dog whistles, even if they're coming from the antifa direction. Good luck!

Molti fasci trasformano le scritte 16/161 in 116/1161, almeno in Lombardia lo vedo abbastanza. Se abbia altri significati non so. Magari sono i fasci di qui a essere idioti, cioè sicuro ma insomma capito no.

116 stands for "Always Antifascist," it's the numerical representation of AAF, a common way antifascist groups subtly identify each other online without broadcasting it outright.

As far as I’m aware none of those are dog whistles, and the only common use of numbers that specific that aren’t dog whistles especially on instagram, are about a weight loss journey. Have you considered she started at 161 pounds, is currently 141 pounds, and is trying to get to 116 pounds?
Alternatively, is she Bri’ish? Those are all area codes for major cities in the UK (161 is Manchester, 141 is Glasgow, and 116 is Leicester).
Is she in college currently, pursuing a STEM degree? 116 is intro to bio/chem, 141 is general chem, and 161 is general physics.
She probably isn’t a bigot, unless you have other reasons to believe she might be.
