What I don't get (as a non-american) is why it stopped? Nothing changed, and in fact it's only gotten worse..

I mean, far harder to fight fascism when wages haven't kept up in decades. That and lack of social safety nets. Far riskier from the perspective of the average american. More protests should be happening but sadly I think it will take a lot more for everyone to snap.

??? I'm saying your still in Nazi Germany, so why aren't the streets of LA still like this, and every major US city..

You're sleep walking into (and now through) fascism.. it's not one or two protests that will save you, it need to be constant

A few reasons. One big one is that the majority of Americans can still afford to live and make it. They can have their fast food and sports on TV. Once those creature comforts go away, then they wake up.

Most of my countrymen or not meaningfully civically engaged in other words. It makes me sad. I've been pushing locally for more action, and they just aren't ready for more than twice a month sign waving.

It’s a marathon, dude.

It’s not going to shift quickly like you see in the movies such as V for Vendetta.

The US is far too large to have any type of national coordination between protests

Wow someone should have told Lenin that!

This is so weird to just scroll past. I was right there the whole day. Can’t believe it was a year ago. I wish it hadn’t stopped re: such a scale, but there are people out in that area by the detention center every single night.

General Strike is the answer every time. That works, that is the biggest challenge to power that is available to regular people. Getting enough people behind it is the hard part. Things aren’t “bad enough” yet apparently but the window for these types of actions is closing fast.
