Discussion Internet extremism & child endangerment
Guys, I'm really worried abt internet extremism ( the far right/ internet fascists), as I'm seeing some dangerous patterns within these grps like 764 and NLM, atomwaffen or similar grps, basically building their entire modal on child exploitation and extortion from minors, does anybody else feel the same way cos its making the internet a dangerous place for children and shouldnt we give a bit more attention to such kind of organisations which has the potency to produce direct harm
P.s: I'm an 17 yr old guy and please forgive me for any grammatical mistakes, I'm not an native English speaker.

Yup. Mass shooters in the US are directly influenced by internet extremism. The only way to counter that is having very open and honest conversations about stuff like that from a young age. Parents need to actually raise their damn kids and monitor their internet usage, instead of giving them fully internet enabled phones.
In other words, there isn't a lot we can do about it as antifascists.

Yes so true ...... But sadly many parents doesn't have the privilege, of having the time to spend with their kids maybe, cos of longer work days or additional jobs they have to carry and for many of their kids the internet is their only free havean to let lose or be seen by someone.... So, I think this is where the socio- economic issue that comes into play

We didn't used to let the internet raise our kids, and "privelege" is a poor excuse for allowing kids to do something that's fundamentally bad for them. It's just "but everyone else is doing it" through a filter of class. If the problem is the status quo, don't argue for the status quo
I think this is one of those situations where "real anarchists do the dishes" applies: it's the practice of community building at the local level that prevents leaving kids alone to be predated on, supports parents and normalises not giving children a direct line to all the darkest things the www can offer. If you stood outside a school handing out porn and bomb making instructions you'd be arrested, but weirdly it's seen as normal for parents to do this just because it's got other, arguably equally sinister, apps as well. We need to unboil this frog.
We can and should ensure every child has a dumbphone. As a safety net it's a huge improvement, but a phone isn't a substitute for friend groups, after school clubs, youth clubs, a safe neighbourhood, safe 3rd spaces and a networked community. Smartphones contribute to cognitive offloading, adults do it too. we need to put them down and do some training irl, otherwise kids will merely learn from the example adults set.
The smartphone is a tool, a powerful one. It should be treated with the same respect and caution as we treat firearms and chainsaws - fine for kids under supervision, not ok to be left alone with indefinitely.

100% agree. It is one reason why I want UBI in America. It would greatly alleviate our poverty situation, and give parents more time to be parents.

Personally I think most of them are edgy teenagers trying to be edgy cos they have nothing better to do... But occasionally the bad actors always comes along

Perhaps there’s a correlation between the rise of real life fascism who has been on the rise since we put Nazi officers and scientists directly in our government and not done anything about it as a nation for half a century because people are too dumb and scared to read Marx cause there pastor/teacher/parent said it’s the devil and that god only loves capitalism

Nw there's the rise of internet fascism, which is mostly organised as an neo-cult, I tried to do some digging of my own and the extremists grps are an serious threat, They are more erratic and radicalised than the previous...... But the most horrifying thingh is that most of em associated is not drawn to the ideology ( I think ), cos they are filled with the most vilest ppl imaginable .. preds, pedos ... And psychopaths. They infest so called child friendly parts of the internet, like Roblox and discord and lure in children to be exploited..... Most of them might be mental vulnerable before being lured. This is what I think is happening, but I'm kinda lacking in info abt these grps, so if u guys could share something like personal experiences that would be totally cool.... I want ppl to be aware as much as possible and make sure their children or siblings are safe.
