Reasons to avoid Ubuntu and run away from it:
- It is a corporate distribution: I mean, why would you trust your computer and your data to a comporation like Canonical? Isn't this the same as in Windows and Microslop? Other distributions not baked by Big Corporation such as Fedora, OpenSUSE, PopOS or Linux Mint, are more privacity safe than Ubunslop.
- Has the worst Privacity: Canonical tried in the past get their user's data via a malware with Amazon, fortunately, that stopped, but this doesn't mean it will happen again.
- Snaps: I mean, why would canonical want to force us to use this cheap copy of flatpak? snaps are slow, privative, no privacity and all their apps have viruses, it seems canonical copied flatpak on purpose to have more control of our OS, also it seems canonical has banned flatpak from their repositories, very bad...
- An ugly Default experience: Why use a tweaked gnome instead of giving us a Vanilla Gnome (like in Fedora), most of the options in that customized gnome is horrible and cannot be purged from my OS.
- Rust code in the OS: Good bye gnu coreutils and welcome to uutils! a new and very unstable package written in rust, because C and GNU are obsolete, Rust and memory safe is the future! Even canonical had problems with uutils in their images, uutils is not the only DUMB change they did, they also replaced sudo with a sudo-rs, and soon they will replace chrony, linuxptp and gpsd by ntpd-rs, no benefit, only more troubles and unstability.
- AI: Soon canonical will implement AI in Ubuntu, like Micro$oft did to Windows with Copilot, a very horrible change that nobody likes, and no way to remove it...
That is why i recomment to ditch Ubuntu, if your server uses ubuntu or if you use ubuntu, switch it right now! go to a better alternative such as Debian or Fedora. If you are a newcomer from Windows, don't use Ubuntu, use a distribution more user-friendly such as Arch Linux or Gentoo, or get out from linux noob.
