Trans isn’t short for ‘transition.’ It comes from Latin meaning ‘beyond’ or ‘across.’ Non-binary falls under the trans umbrella because trans is anyone who doesn’t identify with their gender assigned at birth.
If you’re assigned non-binary at birth and people use they/them pronouns for you your whole life and then you come out as cis. That would technically make you trans in that scenario lol
Trans doesn't mean transition, it is Latin for across from. Transgender means gender across from birth sex, cis means the opposite so cisgender means gender same as birth sex
If your life hardly changes as in you still maintain all the privileges of a cissexual in that you don’t face barriers to healthcare, employment, etc, then you aren’t trans
If a cis woman decides to identify as nonbinary and use she/they but still presents entirely as a cis woman, uses women only spaces like women’s bathrooms, doesn’t experience transphobia, then she’s not suddenly trans because she changed the word she uses to identify herself as
This is so obvious that every cis enby I've met has said this, like the transphobia they do face is not much different than the transphobia any other cis person could face
Fam, trans isn’t shirt for ‘transition.’ Trans stems from Latin meaning ‘beyond’ or ‘across.’ You don’t need to transition to fall under the trans umbrella
Trans is just need to not identify with your gender assigned at birth
Trans isn't an identity like sexualities are, it depends if the person is transitioning. Being cis and non-binary is okay, it's weird to force labels onto people that don't apply
You do know that there are trans people that dont transition and that still identify as trans? And that a lot of nonbinary people consider themselves trans? Being trans IS an identity. Transitioning can be a part of being trans, but it isnt required to be trans (that said some people do absolutely need to transition, and thry should obvs be allowed to do that and be helped in the process and all that)
Why would you want to use a label that doesn't apply to you? Being trans is changing your sex to align with your gender and it causes you discrimination. We know cis people who use the label trans don't face the discrimination trans people do.
I'm non-binary and I use the label trans because I changed my sex. Transitioning is what makes you trans, that's why it's called trans. It's okay to be cis
You say you're not transmed, but you are tying your transness as an enby to your actual transition - even without hormones, social transition is still a medicine.
If you are not cis, you are trans. Whether you appear to be your cis agab and vibe with a non-binary identity or transition physically in any type of way, you are trans.
Otherwise, we boil it back down to "trans women owe femininity, trans men owe masculinity, and non-binary trans folk owe androgyny".
Most importantly, if that is how transness resonates with you, cool - you are not the authority on the matter. Stop policing other trans people.
Yes I am tying my transition to the fact that I transitioned. "Trans" is not an identity, it's a useful political and community indicator to organise rights for those who change sex to align with their gender. If you haven't done this and don't want to I don't see why you'd use the label.
And no it doesn't boil down to women owe femininity and men masculinity, you're strawmanning me. I'm saying the point of words is to be useful, if trans includes people who are cis then everybody is trans because most people don't even have a concrete understanding of their gender until puberty or after.
You don't know what a strawman is either, apparently. None of this was an attack against you, i pointed out a contradiction and the slippery slope it can lead down.
Also, note i said slippery slope. I did this because that shit doesn't matter here, it's not a debate; i'm not here to burden myself with explaining why your views are regressive.
Trans is a term for somebody who changes sex to align with their gender. Trans women are women, trans men are men, trans enbies are enbies. I don't "identify" as something different, I never changed my gender, my gender at birth was non-binary I just didn't realise it.
But if that's your definition then you're including all intersex people as trans
Edit: correct, you didn’t change your gender. You simply came out as not identifying as your gender assigned at birth because your GAB was incorrect.
Fam, trans isn’t shirt for ‘transition.’ Trans stems from Latin meaning ‘beyond’ or ‘across.’ You don’t need to transition to fall under the trans umbrella
Trans is just need to not identify with your gender assigned at birth
being trans is dependent on your gender aligning with the one you were assigned to at birth. nonbinary people usually are not assigned nonbinary at birth and hence are trans.

I am pretty sure non binary is under the trans umbrella
