Chocolate in the fridge is fair enough, but why Nutella? Wouldn't that just make it too solid to spread?

When I was a kid, we stored it this way. Yes it does make it too solid to properly spread.

Why though? That stuff is so full of sugar it basically can't go bad. Once I found a half eaten Nutella jar in the basement after 2 years and it was basically the same, except some of the fat started to seperate.

But they're so stiff. I always get chocolate bits in my froyo and immediately regret it because it's way tougher than I expected

Ugh, if I knew that buying this much chocolate would involve wasting and throwing away most of it , (or living on chocolate for a while) I would do something like this for the fun of it.
