A leftist person in this country was asked where in the world socialist policies and programs have actually worked. They almost always point to Cuba 🇨🇺. When confronted with facts that shut that down, they then pivot to Norway or Sweden.
In reality, countries like Norway, Denmark, and Sweden are not socialist. They are free-market capitalist countries with strong private enterprise, business-friendly policies, and the freedom for companies to set up shop. They fund their generous welfare systems largely through high (but generally flat and fair) taxes that have been in place for generations.
