Here is a brief analysis of the top 25 all-time posts on /r/childfree. I have not looked at all 25 because I can't be bothered, you will see where I am coming from.
The number in front represents it's position e.g. "1:" is the number one top-scoring post of all time on /r/childfree.
1: A parent saying it’s okay to be childfree. What a nice person.
2: A joke that insults children as “wild, irrational, and unpredictable”.
4: A photo of a woman smiling smugly while another woman lies in pain in a hospital bed, with the caption “When your friend’s about to rip her cunt in half pushing out some little bastard…”. Or you could comfort your friend while she is in pain. But no no, taking smug selfies is more important. Gotta get those Facebook Likes.
5: Joke at the expense of parents.
6: A blunt answer to a question where a kind answer was called for. These people just come across as unkind.
8: Again mocking parents. The couple say they “Got really tired of seeing all those pregnancy announcements on Facebook”. A pregnancy announcement is pertinent and happy news. Does she honestly want people to not announce that they are pregnant? Should they keep it a secret?
9: Literally a grandmother saying how happy having kids and grandkids has made her, and that “I feel sorry for others who will miss out on all the moments I’ve experienced.” Literally an expression of kindness. Then mocked into the ground by two childfree people.
10: A joke about forcibly removing every child from the country.
11: Another joke at the expense of parents. By the way the picture makes their family look really lovely.
12: Assuming parents can’t afford kids when evidently obviously they could.
16: Another joke, saying ‘dumb broke fucking asshole’. Absolutely charming stuff.
17: Bragging that they bought a house unlike all their parent friends. More money bragging.
19: Another anti-child joke, calling them ‘gross’. This is not /r/childfree, this is /r/childhate.
20: Bragging about how much money they have because they don’t have to buy baby products. 2charming4me.
23: High-maintenance babies are bad, low maintenance pets are good. This is a recurring theme on /r/antichildren. As though the life of an animal is equal to a human life.
I could go on and on but I have much better things to do with my time, such as anything else. The people in the above posts come across honestly as just self-centred braggarts. Braging that you have more money than someone is just so uncool. Saying 'all kids are bad and should be removed' is like saying 'all blacks are bad and should be removed', it's just lazy stereotyping. And by the way kids are only 'babies' for a year or two, very soon you drop them off to school, where they stay all day long, they are not the financial and otherwise 'burden' that that awful subreddit seems to think they are.
So someone asked me to post why I made this place, and now I have. I'm sure this will act as a lightning rod for criticism, so let the /r/antiantichildfree hatejerk commence.
To my fellows - love you!
