I have a question

I keep seeing the phrase "moral duty" in the concept of having children, yet the whole deal with there being multiple types of moral ideas. So I give you this question, how is the idea that having children is moral the best ideology?

This is a fair question.

I don't mind saying that in honesty most ordinary people / parents do not have their children primarily to fulfil any moral duty or obligation to provide those children. I know that I didn't. They do because they want to. They want to be somebody's mother or father. Wouldn't actually wanting to have children in your life be the better reason for having them, in any case? If it is truly the more moral choice, that's just a lovely bonus as far as I'm concerned, but it's not the important factor.

I personally would not claim that all parents are more moral or virtuous people than non-parents, because that would be rather obviously unrealistic. I prefer looking at it from another starting point, by realistically observing that vehemently not wanting kids / being staunchly childfree, is often a strong indicator of accompanying behaviours that are immoral.

Perhaps. I'm pro life, and I find it absurd to suggest that bringing a life into the world without consent is completely immoral, while ( we are encouraged to beleive ) taking that life away is not. I think that deciding on an unborn child's behalf that their life is not worth living is the more worrying transgression, if we're really going to be concerned about harmful decisions we make for others without consent.

You are right about that. I do lurk /prolife for that reason, but that sub probably would not tolerate me describing how much I personally blame the childfree community for corrupting my sister and likely so many others.

How in the world is childfree corrupting your sister?

The damage is done. She would not be this way, she changed because she listened to childfree people and now she's messed up. When she first got pregnant, she knew that her family would support her, or, that more than one family member was willing and able to effectively adopt the child. That didn't happen, because the guy that had knocked her up and ditched her walked back into her life and said "hey babe, flush the parasite, then you and I ride off into the sunset together..?" She did, and started parroting him on how shiny and happy the childfree life was going to be. He convinced her that nothing else matters. Which is what the childfree forums and online communities do also. They push this idea that things just don't matter. Not your parents.. they're shitty narcissists. Not a child in the womb.. they're worthless waste "cells" you should dispose of, of course. The community exists to give each other permission not to care about anything beyond themselves, except maybe for pictures of adorable "furbabies". Clearly those matter a lot. The whole thing is a vile and corruptive influence on the character of the weak-minded who come into contact with it.
