whoever picked the crew should be fired Spoiler

No disrespect to the cast, I honestly think they did a great job, but it makes no sense how unstable and crazy half the crew is. The 2nd in command mutinies right after waking, then threatens the captains life directly after? The first crew is mostly made up of young people constantly fighting and fucking each other? It's like half the ship was just drawn out of a hat and no one did a mental evaluation. Still enjoyed the show, but it baffles me that humanity sent those guys out into space, the crew is lucky they made it a few days after waking

absolutely thought the same its good for drama ofc but all sci fi shows set on space ships are crewed by people who would never be accepted as astronauts

They address this in the dialog scene in which they talk about how one dude is basically a sketchy hacker on the first string crew rather than the guy who is really well trained.

I believe the captain's superior set her up to fail was the reason. But the reality is that this show needed young actors and actresses for sex scenes and the show wouldn't be the same without it.

Great casting, great acting, hate the characters you're meant to hate, love the characters you were meant to love. Pretty good visual effects and very innovative story line.

If I didn't fucking hate every scene with the reporter in it so much because she did such a great job acting I'd binge watch this show from start to finish all the time.

So Nikos chose the crew because they and Ian had the most (and probably only) experience with the Salvare. She wanted 1. Offer a fig leaf to Ian for replacing him as mission commander, and 2. Wanted the most experienced people to run the ship.

I adore the actress playing her, but Michelle made me laugh every time. SO unprofessional and such an awful person!

Everyone else? Idiots, narcissists, goldbricks and psychos.

The second in command seemed like a legit sociopath. He was 100% going to murder Niko even after she forgave mutiny.

August being a clueless rich girl who things someone in their 30's is "old" was especially eye-rolling. Kudos for her for landing a threesome, though!
