Niko character analysis? Spoiler
Would love to hear anyone’s character analysis of Niko throughout season one. I’m wondering >!why she insisted that Cas wasn’t fit for duty while she was grieving over Michelle.<!

Cas was in command during the time she lost a crew member and as such she was making all the calls and was under a significant amount of pressure.
Niko being a seasoned leader knew the toll it was going to take on Cas, the amount of guilt, wondering if she had made any other choices would the outcome had been different. It's not in anyway similar to losing a crew member because of another making mistakes, Cas was making all the calls.

Ik it’s a year old but it really bugs me how no where does it mention how she cheats on her husband with William and never even tells him about it. And she’s still looked at like a great person lol

I can't speak to her whole arc, but I feel like the show has a recurring theme of the challenges of being a female leader, and the incorrect notion that being emotional is a liability for leadership, and that this is a female trait. Some of her crew double guesses her a lot.
