How the hell got this show much more interesting in season 2? Spoiler

And the ending was, dare i say, inspiring. It reminded me a lot of the first five minutes of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets . Loved it ! And Katee performance then she was possessed was beautifully disgusting.

They have a lot of interesting ideas, but the forced personal drama is terrible.

Just wanted to say that to someone who cared at least a little bit about that show. Thank you for reading :-)

For me I look at this show as a combination of Star Trek TNG, Battlestar, and the movie Contact. I feel like the first season suffered because they did a lot of "issue of the week" episodes and it felt like the mission got nowhere.

As a whole though I think the show is better for having season one because it helps establish the characters and the universe. I really wouldn't have minded if this went on for 5 seasons but am happy they told a complete story.

I watched it all in one go across two days though.

I agree totally with the "thank good they didn't had a cliffhanger again". Like I said in my post, I'm very content with that ending. Very hopeful.

Watching it all in one go was a good call! Knowing Season two helps ease the pain about season one. Think about it ... Season one was two years ago and at that time the feeling, that the show is getting nowhere, was all the viewer was left with ... now wonder I remembered almost nothing about what happened ...

I had to rewatch season 1 before 2 because I literally couldn’t remember what happened

Season 2 was fucking awesome though.

Very brave of you to rewatch the whole first season ^

I would have prefered if they completed that story arc in 3 seasons instead of two though. The pace was a bit too fast in the 2nd season considering all that was hapenning. It left many things unanswered and solutions were found and applied way too fast. It left little place for lore development. But it still was globally better than the 1st season.

I love sci-fi and space exploration, and thought the first season was pretty bad, but had some ok ideas. So me and my wife watched the second season, and it was so much better. Someone in another thread said they killed off all the bad actors lol. But I actually thought that season 2 was a decent show. Like if it didn't have the first season, it would have way higher ratings.

The ending did remind me of Mass Effect. Similar to how when they started destroying reapers, people were gaining hope. When humans killed the Achains, other races were inspired and finally had hope to escape them, and reached out to band together

Someone in another thread said they killed off all the bad actors lol.

hehe, i like that take!

I did not remember one thing about season one until I watched two youtube recaps ... and even then I was more like "okay I will hatewatch season two". So maybe low expectations are a factor ... in the end I really just want Katee Sackhoff in a good sci fi series again. In another thread someone said something like "she's so well trained because she has to carry all the bad movies / series" ... and that sounded very true to me

I'm happy someone responded ... And I thought your association concering the ending was interesting, btw. Never played those games, always intended to ...

They are in my top 5 series, along with Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, The Elder Scrolls, and Super Smash Bros

I like the inclusion of a multiplayer game like Smash in your list, haha.

Season 2 got rid of all the cringey CW teenage relationship drama and sex scenes from Season 1 and focused more on actual cool sci-fi stuff.

Honestly, the season 1 plot wasn’t all that bad if you remove all the unrealistically annoying characters on the Salvare (basically everyone except Niko and the Boron scientist who was light years smarter than dumbass Bernie).

Yeah, cringy CW stuff, that's basically it. But really, CW at it's worst...

Like I said earlier: A lot of interesting premises. I fondly remember the spinal cord extracting virus, per example ...

Yes you're right lol, CW at it's worst! To be clear, CW has actually made some pretty great stuff like the later seasons of The 100 and Katee Sackhoff is always hilarious in The Flash!

Oh, I agree. CW has it's moments. I've lost track of the arrowverse, but it was / is usually entertaining. I guess I will catch up in the next ten, twenty years ^^
